During the start of our wedding planning, we were not completely sure what to look for in a photographer. Sure, we were able to differentiate between sample photos we liked and disliked, but did not come to elaborate and understand the style we desired until meeting with multiple photographers. Over time we became confident that a photojournalistic approach was ideal for our wedding and looked for Bay Area vendor that shoot in this style. After stumbling upon Annie's website, we were quickly enamored with her portfolio and knew we have found the right person! All of the engagement, wedding, and family photographs looked like timeless pieces of art, ones that we knew would retain their elegance many decades after our wedding. The final decision to go with Annie Hall came after meeting her over a video call and realizing that we had a lot in common in terms of temperament, age, and activities. We were certain that we could easily work with this person on the day of our wedding. This was further simplified with Annie's hands off approach -- we did not verbally interact with her during most of the events as she has the vision to capture natural moments of family members laughing with joy, a sneak kiss between the bride and groom, or a playful brawl at the cocktail bar between excited guests. What truly made the day spectacular was that Annie did not feel like a vendor to us; we saw her as a friend. Both Annie and her second photographer Tyler took the time to get to know us personally prior to the wedding, the first time on an exciting trip to a redwood forest for the engagement shoot, and again to go over final logistics before the wedding. We wholeheartedly recommend Annie Hall Photography for anyone looking for a photojournalistic approach to their wedding. Not only were we greatly satisfied with the experience but are also extremely happy with the quality of the final photos. Annie is professional, funny, polite, and responds quickly to customers!Sent on 01/05/2016

Annie Hall was one of the best and easiest choices we made across all of our vendors. She responded to every email within hours, often within minutes, regardless how small the concern. She also works incredibly efficiently - we had our full set of engagement photos within a matter of days and our full wedding package within weeks. She was flexible and willing to travel, with an added bonus that her travel fee rolled over into a gallery credit after the wedding.Sent on 12/13/2015
Although her professionalism and business sense are wonderful, the most important thing about Annie is her skill as a photographer! My husband and I are fairly camera-shy, but Annie very quickly put us at ease. After meeting her at our engagement session, rather than dreading being on camera all day, my husband couldn't wait to see her again at the wedding - she feels much more like a friend with whom to explore new places and enjoy the day than a critical eye documenting your every move. From her first snaps at our engagement session to the final moments of our wedding, Annie and her second-shooter Tyler worked smoothly as a team to catch so many lovely candid moments that a less thoughtful photographer might have missed, all without micromanaging or staging much at all - our photos look like a beautiful but still genuine version of us (that said, her advice for managing family formals was very helpful as well - you will still get plenty of cheesy posed shots for grandma, but that's not the primary focus with Annie). Her favorite phrase was "get close," and then she let our interactions speak for themselves. We love her beautiful candid portraits of not just us but also so many of our guests and how she truly captured the overall feeling of the day. Read Annie's Info page on her website to hear her own vision as a photographer - for us, her unobtrusive, people-focused style was a perfect fit.
