Top Notch Service

Ambiance Special Events went above and beyond my expectations. This was a last minute wedding. And when I say last minute, I mean last minute. Ambiance was able to plan my wedding in just 2 weeks time. I had a beautiful location, beautiful flowers, a wonderful photographer and just such great attention to detail. I highly recommend ASE for your special occasion.

Michelle worked with us to bring our vision to life on our wedding day! We hired her team for day-of services and they took the reins like true professionals. There were multiple consultations prior to the event and Michelle was very helpful and accommodating with our DIY approach. Her experience was evident from our first conversation and her attention to detail became clear with the bath salts she gifted us in our first meeting, timing is everything! We would recommend the Ambiance team for your wedding or event without reservation, and we are confident they would give you the best value for your budget!

Michelle Whyte and her team at Ambiance Special Events provided professional, knowledgeable and respectful guidance during a a twelve month journey of wedding planning. Outstanding! As the mother of the bride, I was the local, in-person contact for the couple who lives on the West Coast. Michelle made sure we thought of everything, even if we decided against certain things. She broke down the decision making to manageable amounts. We had the unusual situation of a morning wedding and an evening reception, with time in between for guests to sightsee or relax. Everything went smoothly! Thanks to Michelle’s attention to detail. The wedding was in November. We are still receiving compliments and people continue to tell us how much fun they had at the reception. We had an unexpected family death about six weeks before the wedding. Michelle stepped up to make sure those decisions that had to be made and vendors contracted with were all lined up for us. In the end, we were able to focus on enjoying the celebration. Michelle is professional, experienced, organized, and poised. She was also cognizant of the courtesies involved in assisting in a church ceremony. We highly recommend Michelle as your wedding coordinator – book with her now!

Michelle from Ambience was absolutely wonderful to work with. She kept things flowing smoothly at the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. The day turned out to be exactly what we had envisioned, most definitely because Michelle took our opinions/ideas seriously and was able to follow through with vendors when we got busy. Her team was great and we got many compliments from our guests about how professional and kind her group was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I met Michelle during the Fort Belvoir Wedding Show but at that point I had decided to plan my own wedding, so I filed her business card with the intention of hiring her for a Day-Of Coordinator. Fast forward two months and I was drowning in wedding planning - when to send invitations, how to choose a photographer, when to order bridesmaids dresses (did you know they should be ordered 5 months in advance at a MINIMUM?? for a bridesmaids dress??) so I decided to call Michelle for a consultation. My husband and I met with her and she transformed my point of view on wedding planners/coordinators. Rather than looking at it like an extra expense, I began to see her value as a way to MAXIMIZE my budget without compromising what I wanted in a wedding. From the very start, Michelle provided estimates on what I would expect to spend on each portion of the wedding - from invitations to centerpieces - and that greatly helped me figure out which I areas I wanted to splurge on and which ones I could go for a more budget-friendly option. Michelle made wedding planning FUN, and matched me with other vendors who matched my personality and style for a seamless wedding day. With her impeccable organization of wedding planning steps, and her extensive list of vendors, I never felt like I was skimping on what I wanted for my wedding. The wedding itself went off flawlessly and I did not have to worry about one single detail during that day.
A wedding is a huge investment that takes time and attention-to-detail to pull off the way you imagine it in your dreams - why not hire someone who has planned weddings for over 10 years? Why not hire someone who has planned weddings in all shapes and sizes, knows experts in every area of wedding planning - from officiants to photographers to florists? Planning my wedding with Michelle never felt like I was planning it with someone who was just hired to do a job; it felt like I was planning my wedding with my best friend!

My advice would be to book Michelle Whyte from Ambince Special events every time. I used her for my wedding back in October. She made it so that my mom didn't have to help decorate, she set up the ceremony/reeption and made sure the wedding day went accordingly to plan. She even helped to clean up at the end of the night and packed all the gifts in our car once the wedding is over. Michelle was such a life saver and made sure my family wasn't doing hte wedding planning. By having Michelle there so ensured my mom could enjoy the ceremony and reception and I had no stress whatsoever. If your considering a wedding day planner and need the extra hand, Michelle is definitely the lady to choose and will very affordable as well.

Where to begin!

Michelle became family during the 9 months of planning my wedding.

She has the uncanny ability to be flexible yet firm, to give options but never too many and to remember all the ideas you once had (and forgot) and bring them up when appropriate. Being a bride is overwhelming, however I rarely felt the wedding planning process was. Even when I didn’t know what my bridesmaids were wearing I knew that my wedding DJ contract and photo boot contract were going smooth.

I appreciated her responsiveness, even when she couldn’t give me a full answer (because as a bride you will ALWAYS forget that your wedding planner has other weddings than yours) she would let me know my message was received.

Michelle set up weekly calls and monthly in person meetings with AGENDAS!!! (yay)
She was proactive in making sure we had everything we desired, even securing our other vendors. Oh then there’s this thing called a budget … she managed that too.

On the best day ever (your wedding day) Michelle brings a TEAM. And they work and you really get to do what should be doing. Being a BRIDE

I would highly recommend her for your wedding needs!

Ambiance was wonderful. As I'm sure is common in the DC Metro area, my now husband is military and was living very far away (as in 14 hours by airplane) throughout the planning process. My mother lives in Louisiana, and my mother in law lives near me in Virginia. All this distance complicated the process, but Michelle was able to simplify everything. She stayed in close touch with me and my mother, gave us a very personalized planning timeline, and made sure we stuck to that timeline. The day of the wedding Michelle and her crew were there every step of the way. All I had to do was go where she told me to go, which kept the entire day running smoothly and pretty much eliminated all of my stress. I highly recommend Michelle and Ambiance Special Events - your day will be all your own and memorable for all the right reasons!!!

What can I say; Michelle and Ambiance were the absolute pivot of our entire wedding. We booked them literally two weeks before our wedding and could not have done it without them. Professional, articulate, fast and efficient, flexible and most importantly Michelle and her team ran with our personalities.

Not only do I feel that they saved our wedding from a potential chaotic disaster we wouldn't have seen coming but they never once made us feel like we weren't getting what we wanted. They were observant and molded themselves to each moment that was taking place, making them almost invisible and yet so very present.
