Anne Sharkey, originally a California Bay Area girl, opened the doors of Almost There Vacations in 2007 in a little corner of Virginia's Eastern Shore called Onancock. Anne knew she had a passion for cruises and all inclusive vacations, and knew that Onancock didn't have a travel agency, so Almost There Vacations was born.

Anne fell in love with travel as a kid when her family would travel to Lake Tahoe, Disneyland, San Diego, Washington DC and Hawaii. She loved helping her parents plan all these trips. In 1991 she took her first cruise soon after finishing college and was hooked.

Now she is partnering with her husband Hugh. He is retired from the Air Force and reserves where he had the opportunity to travel all over the world even living in England for 4 years.

We both have a love for sports. Anne is an avid runner. Hugh is a soccer (futbal) nut and played from the time he was a kid, through college and then for the Air Force when he was stationed in England.
