We had the best wedding at the Alice Austen House. We signed our contract & met with vendors that the staff suggested. They had some switch in staff so I wasn’t sure who to contact with questions, but once I got the new contact they answered every question in a timely fashion! Having our wedding here was exactly what we wanted, we hoped to customize everything and not have a traditional ballroom big crazy wedding. It’s a lot of work, and it makes you feel like your own wedding planned, but if you want your hand in every piece of your wedding this is the way to go! We cannot thank the Alice Austen house staff for the best night ever!!Sent on 10/13/2017

Avoid at any cost!
Brides, avoid this place at any cost!!!! Amy, the manager of the venue, is the worst coordinator that the venue could hire. She allowed us to have a venue in June 2021 and reassured that the only restriction was the capacity of guests. We booked the venue in October.Sent on 05/07/2021
In April, she called us with 1001 more guidelines that we have to follow out of nowhere. I was highly disappointed as back in October, and no one told me anything. And I specifically asked aboutthe guidelines.
I went to the web, and it appeared that I wasn't even allowed to have an event before the end of February. Amy didn't bother herself to find out. Weddings were prohibited.
In April, two months after guidelines were realized and two months before my wedding, she decided to let us know that I can't even remove my mask while going along the aisle.
Also, they work only with one rental company. EVERYTHING ENTERTAINMENT!!!! People are SCAMS! They take your money, don't perform services, give you thousand of fees, don't answer your calls, and are lying all the time. Also they extremely expensive for no reason.
Also, don't be so happy about the cheap cost. It will come up to at least $30,000 for 50 people. You have to rent everything: restrooms, kitchen, food, rentals, tables, tent, day event coordinator, etc.
Give yourself a gift and find a venue that offers all these services. Then, at least you won't have all this headache.
Oh, and by the way, Amy took away $150 from our deposit. Can you imagine what a person you should be to ruin my wedding, fail to perform your job, and take money for it?
