I’m Ashley Kelsey, the owner and sole operator of Alabaster Alterations.

Creative ventures have called my name since Barbie was my best friend. My older sister’s clothing and socks stood no chance against me as I would convert them into sweater vests and evening gowns for Ken & Barbie.

I grew older and thrift stores were my primary shopping scene. If I loved a pattern or fabric, size never kept me from taking new treasures home. That funky blazer or comfy gaucho pant became favorites as I altered them to fit me! Thus, a love for altering clothing erupted.

This love followed me to college at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA where I graduated with a BAT in Apparel & Textiles. And also to my first industry job; a large bridal store where I became an alterations specialist working on large and often meticulous bridal gowns and formal dresses. I completely fell in love with the bridal business and decided to venture out on my own.

Alabaster opened March 2019 with great anticipation of the journey ahead!

I pride myself on quality work, my eye for detail, and staying up to date on current fashions and classics. I look forward to working with you!
