I am the owner of A Private Estate Events a wedding venue in Germantown NY. Yesterday Ailish Florist, also located in Germantown NY, provided the flowers for our wedding couple. As a former florist and lifelong gardener I was impressed with the quality and variety of the flowers Elizabeth selected. I was able to speak at length with her today when she returned to pick up her flower vessels. I learned she sources most of her flowers locally. I had no idea how many different varieties are grown within reach of our venue. Her taste is exquisite and her skill remarkable. She worked with several very fragile flowers such as violas and geums and they looked perfect. If you are looking to support local small floral growers pick Ailish Floral. Not only will you have wonderful long lasting flowers but you are going to have beautiful arrangements too.

Oh my goodness I honestly do not know where to begin. Elizabeth is the best thing that has happened to the Hudson Valley & Catskills when it comes to the floral industry, she is not only incredibly talented she is a gem of a person. Of course it is important to create gorgeous arrangements but she also takes it a step further with her mission of sustainability when it comes to supporting local farmers and artisans. Honestly if there was such a thing as a fairy floral god sister..she would be mine because I am completely obsessed with her style and magic.

I first would like to mention I contacted her only 10 days before the execution date..you know COVID bride style living on the edge! haha I sent her some ideas and color scheme inspiration and then I had her completely take over from there. Honestly one of the best things I did is give Elizabeth 100% creative freedom. That is something that it not easy for my type A personality to do ;) , but it was the best thing that happened to us both and I am so glad I put my trust in her!!

Not only did she deliver- she completely
blew our mind. It’s like she knew me better than myself, so so incredible. The beautiful late July seasoned table adorned with peaches, baby tomatoes and dahlias. A dog collar and flower crown made with strawflowers in the most beautiful colors of peach yellows white and light orange. A gorgeous bouquet that was just the perfect size for my petite self and beautiful pressed flowers on our mini wedding cakes. Last but not least- the show stopper- the SURPRISE arbor that my husband had her make for me ... I.AM.STILL.IN.AWE.OF HOW INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL THIS WAS!!

I can’t even put into words how thankful we are that we were able to work with Elizabeth. She made our celebration feel like a true representation of us as a couple and went above and beyond to create a wedding out of our wildest dreams. To say I am obsessed with Ailish Floral is an understatement!!

HIRE AILISH!

I wanted to start my review out with a no brainer caption: HIRE AILISH. I have organized many couples with the perfect florals for their wedding day for over 10 years. Now, it was my turn to find a florist for my wedding.

I met Elizabeth, the owner of Ailish, for the first time at a micro-wedding in the middle of Pandemic 2020. She was setting up florals for a couple who went through the crazy Corona-Bride Mind Maze. This couple ended with, we just want to get married this year, we don’t care if we have to stick with under 25 guests, mask up the full time and have hand sanitizer as favors. I was setting up with Canvas Weddings, when I met this beautiful soul, Elizabeth. I felt a connection that day and knew it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Fast forward to one month later, my fiancé and I decided we wanted to get married in 4 weeks. I emailed Elizabeth and she got back to us right away asking for a call to hear more about our vision. Our call was so perfect. I felt so comfortable talking to her. I know pretty florals, but I don’t know the different types, so she really made me feel at ease. I shared a few pictures I liked, but there were two ‘must have’ for the BIG day: a big bouquet for me and a necklace for my baby Bernese Mountain Dog (okay, she is three and not a baby, but she will always be my big-little toddler).

She sent me a proposal by the end of the day of our first call. Again, being in the business, when a vendor says they will send you something by the end of the day, sometimes that means end of the week. I was not expecting a proposal by the end of the day, but when I did get it, my smile lit up from ear to ear and my eyes were so wide, my now husband was like, “Calm down you are scaring me.”

Anyway, she nailed it. The proposal included a vision board, itemized pricing and options to work with if we wanted to make changes. What completely sealed the deal was when I got to the line item of the necklace for my Kaia, it said, ‘Fit for a Queen.’ Clearly she knew the way to my heart.

Wedding day, I was completely blown away. The tables were everything we imagined and more. She even added a food element of concord grapes to the tables. This was perfect for being at a winery, my husband the chef AND our signature drink had concord grape juice in it! When I saw the bouquet, I had the creepy ear to ear smile and wide open eyes again, this time with me holding back tears of excitement. She absolutely nailed everything we talked about as I knew she would because she made us feel so comfortable from start to finish. So please, HIRE AILISH NOW. You will be so happy you did!
