There are so many wonderful things to say about Abuso, so please bear with me!
My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which has a list of 6 approved caterers who are allowed to cater museum events. After having a NIGHTMARE of a time working with one caterer, who acted as if our business was unimportant, we contacted Abuso. I wish we would have started with them! After three months attempting to work with the other caterer to create a menu within our budget, Dylan and the rest of Abuso hit the ground running on day 1.
My husband and I sat down with Dylan before our wedding to discuss the reception space and where we would like our food stations to go. As we spoke, he created a map of the museum floor and came up with exciting menu options. We wanted the best food for our guests, so we had him pick his favorite options within our budget, and he chose so well! Our menu included passed pecan crusted chicken bites; a mobile raw bar with oysters, shrimp, and crab fingers; Alaskan salmon sliders; beef short rib sliders; pork shanks; macaroni & cheese bar with toppings; and a baby spinach salad station with toppings.
Dylan also organized our rentals through a third party for our tables, chairs, place settings, etc. He kept checking with his vendors for when they were having sales on certain rentals. Because of his hard-work, we were able to upgrade from our original options.
When we gave Abuso our final headcount, Dylan decided we did not need the original number of service staff. He reduced this by one, so we were again able to save more of our money.
Finally, and the BEST THING EVER, my husband and I were surprised to find out that Dylan had arranged one of the staff to work as our own personal waiter. He was constantly shadowing us to grab us drinks and food, since there was no way we could have grabbed our own without being stopped by our guests.
You will not regret working with Abuso. I cannot imagine anyone better.
