We chose Above and Beyond not just because they were a preferred catering at The Grand Hall but we knew they did such a great job for my brother-in-law's wedding three-years-ago. Kayla really went the extra mile for us and I can’t tell you how much that meant to making our wedding day be absolutely perfect. We appreciated Above and Beyond being flexible with our budget and prompt with any correspondence. They even accommodated us for multiple tastings, so we could perfect the menu. For our menu, the chef even made a special sauce at our request! Kayla worked with the timeline of our reception, especially when we started the cocktail hour earlier than planned. She attend our final meeting at our reception venue, which was so kind of her to do. At the wedding, the buffet looked amazing, the food was incredible and still being talked about by our guests. Guests also complimented us about the great service they received during dinner. Kayla was there with us all along the way to make sure we felt completely carefree about how it was all going to happen. Additionally, Above and Beyond cut our cake and kept up with serving it to our guests when there was a huge demand.
Most importantly, Kayla and the Above and Beyond staff paid close attention to the details for our table setting. They made our multiple dinner rentals look wonderful! Overall, Kayla and the Above and Beyond team were truly amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. Please don't hesitate to book them for your next event!

The food that Above & Beyond prepared and served at our reception was delicious, plentiful, and served so beautifully and expediently (particularly given the large crowd and unique venue setup!). I can't thank you enough for your help in providing a delicious meal and setting to our friends and family. Your staff were so pleasant and helpful, even when they had been on their feet for hours and hours and transporting all of the material in from outside in the cold! Roxanne and her team were amazing. Above & Beyond came up with a specialty "pasta cup" for our menu, simply based on a conversation we had during our initial consultation. Our guests raved about the food and we couldn't have been,ore pleased with the set up they created...it fit beautifully in with our color scheme and theme.
And, the fact that we were able to work with then from Minnesota...I would recommend them and definitely use them again for any event I had to plan.

I can not say enough good things about Above and Beyond Catering, but I will say that their name is spot on accurate.

We decided to keep it simple for our meal, and we only offered one choice for the main dish: Rosemary Chicken. Then we offered the garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green beans for our side, plus a salad and roll. It was as fabulous the day of, as it was when we did our tasting. Not only did my groom and I think so, but I received so many rave reviews from our guests I lost track, including both sets of parents. The chicken and mashed potatoes stole the show for most people, but even the salad was above and beyond amazing with fresh colorful vegetables and greens far better than your average iceburg salad.

On top of amazing food, their presentation of it all was beautiful and added to our venue decor in such a complimentary way.

It was their incredible service that really stood out to me though. They made a point of checking in with me to make sure I was happy with everything a couple of different times, but were never obtrusive. And they were on top of every detail. You can tell the entire staff truly enjoy what they do, and love doing weddings. The food preparation is an act of love, the servers are all happy and so accommodating. I truly can not say enough.

To top all of this off, they are very reasonable in comparison to many other caterers, and we shopped around and did our homework on this one, because we knew it was going to be one of our larger expenses.

I highly, highly recommend Above and Beyond catering. You will be impressed in every category, and your guests will be too.

Roxanne, Tina, and everyone at Above & Beyond Catering/Black on Burlington are absolutely amazing! Their food pleases EVERY appetite with their creative dishes (jalepeno potato salad, breakfast casseroles, fried chicken, etc) and are open to create a masterpiece catered to your liking. Professional staff, A++ service, and will NEVER disappoint on the taste no matter what size of crowd!

Chase was nice he provided me with all the information needed as far as prices go. He also explained about the flexibility of the menus to accommodate our guests. Very helpful and useful.

Above & Beyond was wonderful to work with both before and during our wedding reception. They were the only caterer in Kansas City I could find that listed their pricing on their Web site - financial transparency is very important to me! I appreciated everything they did to make our wedding food exactly what my husband and I wanted at a very reasonable price. To top it off, the food was outrageously good. We had so many compliments after the reception.......still getting them to this day. We couldn't have chosen a better caterer.

The name of this caterer - Above & Beyond - says it all. The staff went out of their way to make our event everything we wanted. We were working within a budget, and they kept that in mind while providing unique and delicious items. Every member of the staff were professional and caring, making sure that each detail was handled before and during our event. Patrice and her staff took the stress out of all things related to our menu, as well as set-up, tear down, keeping guests happy, and making sure that we (the bride and groom) had something to eat before the evening got away from us. They even responded to some food allergy restrictions without any additional charges or irritations. We want to tell everyone we know about how wonderful this group was.

I worked with Patrice, and she was so nice and helpful. She always responded to my emails/questions right away. Everyone was so impressed with the food - people have continued to make comments even after the wedding about how good the food was.
