Reviews of AA Computer Rental

AA-Computer Rental (also known as Mr. Video, Inc.) is not in the wedding business and it shows. The reason I booked this company is because I wanted to hire my friend as my wedding DJ. I met her at college, where we both hosted shows at our college radio station. She was the best on-air personality there and I thought having her DJ would make my wedding so special (and it did). But since she did not own her own DJ equipment, I would have to rent the equipment on my own.

I choose AA-Computer Rental because it was the only company I could find that offered a dual-CD player to rent. From start to finish, everything was a disaster. Choosing AA-Computer Rental was a mistake and the most disappointing aspect of my wedding. When they delivered the equipment, the delivery guy was late as well as brought a one-disc CD player. He had to leave and get the correct player. And then he was in a hurry to leave, saying that, could we test the equipment quickly so he could go?

Although the CD player was working before the reception, the one of the discs stopped functioning at the beginning of the dancing portion of the evening. When the DJ pressed the control buttons for the right player, it would execute the same action on both players. So mid-song, when the DJ was taking out a CD from the right player, it opened both discs, interrupting the song (playing on the left CD player). The DJ was forced to only use one player for the entire night to avoid this problem.

Additionally, when the reception musicians were performing, singing the song for the first dance, the wireless mic stopped working for the lead vocalist. The batteries had died and she had to use the guitarist's mic, meaning there were no back-up vocals. The was music for the first dance between me and my husband.

The company was late in picking up the equipment that night and the venue closed before they arrived, so the wedding coordinator had to lug it to my house for pick-up the next day. The delivery guy was again late, nearly an hour and a half. When I described all the issues with the equipment, he apologized and said he would test the equipment and email me with the next step (in terms of a refund).

When I returned from the honeymoon, there was no email citing equipment testing. When I called the representative who set up the contract with me, she said that the CD player had been used since my wedding, without any issues. She also said that new batteries are put in the wireless mics before each rental, so that we must have let the batteries run out. She said that because we did not pay the $75 to have a technician set-up the equipment, they were not responsible for the performance of the equipment. (My husband is very experienced with audio equipment and he set it up accurately.)

I was furious. Their poor equipment had a negative effect on my wedding and I was even more livid that they refused to take responsibility. It is completely unprofessional and unethical to run a business like this. The reason I haven't posted a review sooner is because my husband and I moved to the west coast 3 weeks after the honeymoon.

Do not use this company! For any equipment for any function!
