I had a wonderful experience at my reception held at the Hilton Westchase. Six months before the wedding, the wedding coordinator was replaced by Betty, but to my pleasant surprise, Betty had lots of previous experience in this department and knew what she was doing. Unfortunately, Betty was out sick quite often, but I was usually able to speak to somebody else with any questions that I had. The catering manager was very helpful as well. On the day of the wedding, the catering staff was very professional and we felt like we were being treated like royalty. The only thing that bothered us was that nobody came to inform us (as was promised) that the tab limit had been reached. We would have paid for more drinks for our guests to enjoy, but since we were not informed and were kept busy several other people, our guests had to start paying for their drinks a bit after dinner had started. It was unfortunate, but everyone seemed to have a blast at the wedding. Oh, and their food was AMAZING!!!! It was the talk of the town for months after the wedding took place.
I was married at this church and it is absolutely gorgeous!! It is one of the most sought out Catholic churches to be married in Houston, and at first, I felt it was a bit difficult to get in touch with the right people to start the whole process. I first spoke with Joan (who was initially intimidating), but then decided to have my ceremony in Spanish and was told that I had to transfer my paperwork to the Hispanic ministry. Brenda (secretary) did a wonderful job and was very organized. She was helpful and informative. Whenever I called, she made sure to find responses to my questions, no matter how many people she had to speak to. Father Bill was kind and approachable, but hard to get ahold of due to his busy schedule. If I needed to relay any information to him, Brenda made sure to inform him of it. The ceremony and the atmosphere was all I had ever dreamed of. The girl who was in charge of the rehearsal was new at it, but she was a trooper and was responsive to all of the questions that we had. The church is very strict and structured with the post-ceremony photography (with all vendors, actually), so we were pretty much kicked out 15 minutes after the ceremony had finished. We moved it outside to the front of the church and finished taking some pictures there. In the end, I'm glad we stuck to this church because it was where I was baptized and it meant so much to me.
This husband-and-wife team was awesome to work with!! They are two of the most down-to-earth professionals that I've met. In addition to being incredibly talented, they were responsive to me whenever I needed help or advice. Marianne helped me feel at ease as I was about to walk down the aisle, and that was just one of the instances where I felt I was in good hands. I would definitely recommend these photographers!
Jeff was easy to work with and had helpful ideas. He was not pushy at all, and was receptive to all of my requests and edits that I would make to my flower list. The floral department always has a wonderful selection of flowers that are excellent quality, and at least 1/2 the price of what a "boutique" florist would charge. There were times when I had to leave messages with his assistants because he was out of the store, but I was always able to get ahold of him via email. I provided the vases and told him how I wanted things to look. They delivered the arrangments on time and everything looked spectacular! Best of all, he did this on short notice (one month before the wedding), since the person I was thinking about using (Lynn Bauman) turned into NIGHTMARE to work with. Anyway, Jeff definitely saved the day! Please ask for him if you want beautiful flowers at a great price.
For all of the brides-to-be: Beware of my ex-florist, Mr. Lynn Bauman, and his disgusting/awful business etiquette. Big mistake. I hate to be nasty about vendors, but Mr. Bauman didn't even have an invoice ready for me ONE MONTH before the wedding (February 21, 2009), and this after trying to deal with him and waste my time trying to follow up with him starting back in October 2008!! He was always too busy taking care of his other business ventures, but you better believe he had a ridiculous invoice ready to hand me the DAY AFTER I fired him from our verbal contract. If only he were that prompt when I continuously asked him to respond to questions/requests/concerns that I had all along. According to Lynn, said invoice was charging for things such as giving me the name of a wholesale store that sells flower vases--which I went to MYSELF and paid full price for (he and his wholesale license did not accompany me), for my driving across town at his request to meet him at times and places that were only convenient for him, and for all of his time that he spent planning on the flower arrangements for my wedding (which was probably close to around 1 hour worth of work since he could never give me a correct itemized invoice and/or the total estimated cost of my requested flowers). The worst $140 I ever spent in my life. Shame on Lynn for having such sad customer service and shame on me for wasting my time. Avoid this man like the plague, and on a brighter note, go to Jeff instead!
Peter was so easy to work with, and was willing to work with us on short notice!! He made the grooms cake and it turned out so great. And, it was as tasty as it was cool-looking. I will work with him again!
My cake turned out beautifully, and from what I remember, it tasted good. It was included in the reception hall package that we had chosen. It turned out looking identical to the magazine cut-out that I handed them. I dealt with Jessica. She was knowledgeable about the cakes, and I appreciated her advice, but the owner seemed a little more laid back and not so in-your-face. They changed locations right before I got married, and their bakery was very hard to find, but I assume that they should have a sign up in front by now. In conclusion, I was happy with the way my cake turned out! I went else where to find the grooms cake because they were a bit pricey.
Parvani Vida was great to work with. I mostly spoke to/dealt with Anita, and she helped me find my dress on the first visit. She showed great customer service and had a LOAD of patience. I lost count on the number of times that I went in there with different people (mom, bridesmaids, aunts), but they were willing to help me every time with a smile. The owner of the boutique was extremely knowledgeable and kind, and was the person who solidified the final changes to my dress that I had requested. I felt comfortable with the way they handled things; it was an overall wonderful experience.
Pete was busy on the day of our wedding, so we were assigned his partner, John. He was cool, and quick with the last minute requests/changes that we had about the music list, but whenever we needed to get ahold of him before the wedding date, we had to go through Pete first. I felt we should have been able to directly speak to the person who was going to be at our wedding, but I understand that it's Pete's company and things should go through him. I would still have rather had a direct method of communication with John. We gave him the list of music, and the most favorite of my genres, salsa/tropical music, was not played as much as I would have liked. I didn't have time to go request more of it, but everyone seemed to enjoy the music anyway. John got most of the guests up and onto the dance floor when the dancing portion started. I was especially pleased to see the older crowd up and about. John's a funny guy and he kept things going nicely. I was happy with the service that was provided.
They are a couple of friendly and professional videographers! I loved chatting with them, as they are very easy to get along with. When we had any issues, it was easy to contact them, and they were willing to work with us when we wanted some things edited/changed in our video. Whatever was asked of them, they made it work. I would recommend these videographers to anybody!
Our driver picked us from church in the Countess, and it was fabulous! We have wedding pictures that show our last name on the license plate. My husband and I felt like royalty that day, and the car was the cherry on top. It drove us from the church, to our university campus to have pictures taken, then back to our reception site. As we were driving down the freeway, everyone had their eyes on our car. It was an out of this world experience, and I would recommend this company to any bride who wants to know what it feels like to be treated like a queen on her special day.

Alina is such a professional and has a way of putting people at ease. She was easy-going and really listened to what I had to say. She took my vision for my makeup/hair and guided me very well. I was very happy with the end product.
