Our experience with Meadowlark started out great. My mom and I stopped by one afternoon and I fell in love with the place. It is a nice building with a nice view. One of the great things about Meadowlark is that you have the whole 2-story building to yourself when the golf course closes. We really didn't want to be in a huge hotel with several weddings or other events going on at once. Anyhow, one of the staff members, Jessica, was wonderful. She was very personable and reassuring. The other woman was fake and didn't always seem like she cared about what we wanted. I am not sure if either of the two work there anymore. My biggest complaint is what happened the night of our wedding. After going over all the details of the reception (our ceremony was held elsewhere) the week before, and even the day before our wedding, the staff at Meadowlark made several mistakes. My husband's father was given the wrong dinner plate, twice. We never got cake at our sweetheart table. But the worst of it was our grand entrance- We had discussed that the slide show projector and screen would need to be moved before our entrance to make room on the dance floor for our first dance. As we entered and I went to hand off my flowers for our beautiful moment, we saw them both still on the dance floor. Now we have pictures of my husband and I frantically pointing and making distorted faces while trying to get our family members to do what Meadowlark had failed to do. If you are willing to risk your big night, and want to save your money, Meadowlark's prices can't be beat. In this case, I think we got what we paid for.
Our cake was in our venue package, but I had heard good things about Rossmoor Pastries beforehand. They did not disappoint. We got 2 Bavarian Chocolate layers, and a California Sunset layer in our three tier cake. The cake arrived early enough for our wonderful florist (Debbie with Flowers Etc. in Fountain Valley) to decorate, and many guests complimented us on the cake's beauty and taste. Rossmoor was professional at our tasting and catered to anything we asked them to do, including mixing and matching cake shapes with details/designs. I would recommend this vendor to anyone out there!
All in all I thought this vendor did a good job. However, when ordering my veil, which was supposed to be floor length, the saleswoman measured wrong or wrote the wrong number because when it arrived, the veil was way too long (by at least 3 feet). At first they tried to play it off like, "You signed for it, it's your problem." But after they realized I couldn't measure myself from the top of my head to the bottom of the back of my dress, they changed their tune. I was extremely happy with my dress and veil and the tailor they recommended. I also took my dress back to the Wedding Day to have it professionally cleaned. They don't actually do it there, but send it to another vendor who mails it to your home. The quality of service I received really depended on what day I went in and who was working. I know the girls work on commission (I also interviewed there while I was planning my own wedding) so make sure if you do go there you make appointments with the same person throughout so you are treated the same each time. Also, this is a pricey place, but you do get a service tailored to your needs.
Dustin helped us out of a tight spot when we had to fire our videographer at the last minute (never hire girlfriends of friends). We called him, met for a quick, painless conversation to hash out the details of what we needed and what he could provide, and a month later he saved the day with his magnificent HD camera. He even gave us our DVD before we moved out of the country just 2 weeks after our wedding. If you want a reasonably priced videographer who is willing to go the distance and take care of your every need without allowing quality to suffer, look no further.
I have no complaints about this company. I ordered items for our reception and cameras for our flower girl and ring bearer. The smiles on those kids' faces (3 and 4 yrs old) as they snapped photos at our reception were worth it!
