People (at least from what I've heard) renew their vows a couple more years into their marriage. A party sounds very nice and I think both of you should go for it, but maybe renew your vows later?

I don't mean it rudely honestly but IMO it is usually the 10 year anniversary you celebrate. 2 years is pretty early. So here is my don't mean to be rude part, but if I knew someone throwing that my first thought would be is "they want MORE presents" unless it is something that is just a get together you are planning, like a dinner and want to celebrate with friends and no presents. Then you can't help if someone wants to get you something.

Heidi Klum and Seal renew their vows annually. Here's the link to this year's event.

With that said if it's in your budget go for it. Should you ask for gifts IMO no but old school etiquette says to always bring the host a gift no matter the size of the gathering.

I love hosting and attending parties for that matter. I plan on celebrating my anniversary with friends and family pool side or at some resort; why else have a summer wedding : p

Totally able to renew your vows, make it more personal though, maybe you just you two! Go out for a fancy dinner, take in a show, sleep where you slept on your first night of your wedding, etc... but having a PARTY for a 2 yr anni is not typical. I mean no offense but if i got invited to an anni party that wasnt a 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, etc..(not the same couple every 5 years, lol, but you know what i mean) i would think its wierd and wouldnt go. There's nothing more special than two ppl sharing their love for each other w/ family and special friends. Go for it and have the party, but wait until at least 5 years b4 renewing your vows.

Go for it, I plan to celebrate and have a get together at our house or maybe a big party every year to celebrate, it's all worth it. After all the stress I've been through, both FH and I, I think we deserve to celebrate every year, lol
