Has anyone had a wedding in Cartagena, Colombia recently?

My fiance and I just got engaged and we were considering Cartagena because it is where we became a couple and we both love the Latin culture. Logistically it also works because we are of different nationalities. I've read forums of people who had their weddings there 3 yrs ago but I haven't seen anything more recent to get a price estimate. I reached out to vendors and so far have gotten one approximate quote that is well over our budget. We want the basic experience, with the dancers and and a band but don't need elaborate flowers, etc. We're going to have between 75-100 people (hoping to keep it on the lower side) probably in November 2013 or March 2014. We'd love to be able to spend under USD $ 15k. Is that realistic or should I choose another destination?

    We had a recent wedding in Cartagena and had a wonderful experience with a historic building across from the cathedral in the old city for 100 people. Marble floors, exotic patio, grand salon with large balcony overlooking the cathedral and the street activities. Very charming and very safe. Building Manager is woman named Ruth Gonzalez who speaks English, 407-399-5494

    Sorry but I forgot to mention that Ruth Gonzalez is from Cartagena but has a home in the USA and can be reached on her USA phone 407-399-5494 (speaks English). She also manages several upscale apartments in the old city and on the beach in Boca Grande for guests and for the bridal party to stay if needed. Very charming.
