Beauty and the Beast Wedding Ideas

Christine, on January 3, 2014 at 5:00 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

So, I decided to be a little crazy with my wedding. I want to have some Beauty and the Beast themed stuff going on. It will be an evening wedding, so that will work out well.

Does anyone have any ideas? I think I will be mixing vintage rustic chic with this idea. The flowers will be pink roses. I feel like I have exhausted all possible research tools.

Hmm. Tea pot and/or tea cup centerpieces?

Cake on a stack of books (since Belle likes to read)?

"Be Our Guest" quotes as table names?

We might be having red roses under a little dome as centerpieces, like the Beast's rose. I'm trying to sneak in BATB homages where I can lol

I'm not really familiar with the movie but can only think of teacups and candelabras. I'd say start scouting out thrift stores and see if you can mix and match old school china and use teapots for vases one some tables and the candles on others. I could be totally off base here though.

Lots of books!!! What about using a red rose as an accent? Isn't that the flower that the Beast had that would bloom only if he found true love by a certain time? or something?

    Love this movie!

Alfred Angelo has the Disney Princess dress line - you could look at the Belle inspired gown? Not sure if you are going for the Disney Beauty & Beast or the original story. But I think the roses are a great touch. and yes, tea cups and books and mirrors.

We aren't taking Beauty and the Beast that literally, but when we first met I didn't have the best opinion (however, he has always been ridiculously handsome)... So, he really did turn from "beast" to "prince" in my mind, and he is completely in love with this idea.

He is very supportive Smiley smile

Winnipegwriter: I was thinking of doing that too! I love this idea (picture), but bell glasses like that cost a lot of money, so I might just do one in front of us.

Here are some ways to incorporate the colors and some other ideas.

Here's a page I found on the Ruffled Bride: http://ruffledblog.com/beauty-and-the-beast-wedding/

I am doing that same centerpiece for our sweetheart table. I found the glass dome for cheap at saveoncrafts.com!

Teacups, Candleabras and roses pop into my mind due to the Disney version as well.

Where's your venue? It'd give it a nice touch if it's a nice ball room with a staircase , kind of like when they're Dancing.

Have like stacked books and on top of it put the rose thing you said as centerpieces .

maybe your bridesmaids can wear a baby blue dress like Belle's and have a rose with a book?

And have their hair like her.

Will you be dancing the beauty and the beast song with your FH??

If you have a sitting chart , maybe you can find little cups and you can maybe paint them and add a tea thing with their names and table number .

FutureMrs. T: Did you buy chance buy this one, http://www.save-on-crafts.com/belljars.html

I was looking at it, but I wasn't sure if it was exactly what I wanted. The knob for the larger one looks too big. Which ones did you get, and how do you like them? Also, do you have any pictures?

Jet, I ordered one of the Belle dresses. Christine, are you thinking the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast or a different version? If you are going with the Disney movie version, I agree that the rose under the glass dome would be great. You could "steal" some ideas from the Fantasyland expansion and do a signature cocktail like a Maurice drink (Belle's dad) or Chip's Cocoa. Or find a drink that could look grey and it could be "the Gray Stuff.... it's Delicious".

Here are pictures of the venue. The property is beautiful, but the venue isn't exactly Beauty and the Beast. That is why I am having rustic chic in there as well.

The wood chairs have to stay, and we won't be getting coverings for them. The picture with the wood chairs is where we eat, and the picture with the white tables is where the dancing and bar is. So, I have two rooms to decorate! But they will move the decorations from the eating room to dance room.

Theresa: The dining room does look more like a tavern... You saying tavern made that just dawn on me. Hmm, I wonder what I could do with that.

I am trying to not spend too a fortune on this idea, and using red is out of the question. The wedding colors are light grey, blush pink, ivory, and green. So, the roses will be light pink. I've already bought my wedding dress, and it's trumpet style (ivory).

I know Disney sells flutes (picture), so I think I will get those. I had an idea for the cake (picture), but I think I would want it to say in scroll "Tale as Old as Time" or something along with that look. I will have to see if my cake maker would want to do it.

If you're going to get the Beauty & The Beast Disney flutes do it soon!! My mom and step-dad got them for FH and I (our colors are yellow and blue, and since we got engaged in Disney we're putting little homages to it here and there). They had to ask specifically for those glasses in the parks and bought one of the last sets available in store. They won't be restocking them though - apparently Disney is phasing out character images on glassware meant for alcohol.

Meredith: Thanks for the heads up! Do they look as great as the photo's show them?

I do have some teacups. Here is what they look like (picture). I think I have 9 or 10, but I could buy some more.

KayRay: Great minds think alike Smiley smile

Actually, the first thing I thought of when I saw the wooden chair room was that pub/lodge where Gaston sings. The wood in there reminds me of a lodge or old fachwerk building

e.t.a. I posted this too late, I see you were thinking the same thing! Smiley smile

Don't ask a former Disney employee these things- you will end up with too much- LOL!

Maybe not how I would do it, but a couple of courples that have used that as an inspiration:
