Am I the only who doesn't like champagne?

NaShara and Milton, on November 20, 2014 at 5:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 39

Is it really that necessary to have it at cocktail hour and the reception? I'm not a big fan of it whether it's Moet or a cheap-o bottle at the store. =\ I just don't want it to be missed by guests.

I think it's fine to not have it. Half of my guests loved it and half gave their flute to the others after the toast lol

You dont' have to do most; you can do Frexinet (11.00) Segura Vindas (10.00) or any kind of prosecco. For a toast, you'll get 8-10 bottles to the flute.

Have you tried prosecco? It's a different type of bubbly. we used it at our wedding instead of champagne.

We had a cocktail reception with an open bar and a champagne toast. HOWEVER, I don't like champagne, and neither does my husband. We don't drink. So to be sociable we had sparkling cider, which both of us do enjoy now and then, and the guests had champagne.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. If you don't want to do a champagne toast, don't. You can have a toast, like Celia mentioned, with other stuff, or no toast at all. Don't people sometimes toast with wine? (I haven't had a drink in 12+ years...and tune out alcohol...so sorry if that's inaccurate).

I don't like champagne either. I will take a sip for the toasts but that will be it.

No. I love Champagne, and they stuff they usually pour for wedding toasts is gross cheapo sparkling wine anyway. We're just having people toast with whatever they're drinking.

That's what I might do. Try Prosecco or just have people toast with whatever in their hands. Thanks ladies!

For budgetary reasons and because we do not drink it, are toast will not be done with champagne. We're getting a lot of flack from those who drink it, but in the end, we felt this was a cost we would skip.

Bitch Bubbly is the shit. But no, I don't think it's necessary to have. I've been to many weddings that people just toast with their bar drinks or soda/water. No biggie. But I do looooove some champs!

You could also try a pink sparkling Moscato. It's a little on the sweet side, but it's pink and pretty, and I think most people would like it.

I'm not a fan of champagne. We did have a champagne toast, but honestly as a guest? I'd be happy to toast with something other than champagne!

I had a champagne free wedding... I hate "bubbly". Gross. We just had a normal cocktail hour with regular bar drinks. We toasted throughout the dinner.

I like champagne. I hate beer. I hate wine (for me, it's a sleep inducing, headache introducing potion). I guess we're all different.
