Am I the only who doesn't like champagne?

Is it really that necessary to have it at cocktail hour and the reception? I'm not a big fan of it whether it's Moet or a cheap-o bottle at the store. =\ I just don't want it to be missed by guests.

@nashara YES! I've found it at walmart! It's a pink, sweet champagne! Seriously, yummo!

I love champagne (or prosecco or any bubbly) and I ALWAYS miss it if it's not offered at weddings. To me it's what I want to drink when I'm celebrating!! However I have been to several weddings that didn't have it and nobody rioted.

We got married in apple country so we had sparkling hard apple cider to toast with.

Neither of us are a fan of cheap champagne - and would much prefer to have good beer and wine.

I don't like champagne, wine or beer. We chose to have our toast drink-in-hand. We had an open bar so people could toast with whatever their preference of drink was.

In my glass I had sex on the beach; my wife's was an appletini

Our caterer didn't offer any sparkling wine as part of our open bar package, so we skipped it. As far as I know, no one missed it.

Many of our middle tier venues here use Verdi, a sweet sparkler that is pretty reasonable. Gimme champagne, but that's a good compromise.

I really enjoy champagne and I enjoy drinking it when I am celebrating. But as a guest I wouldn't be too upset if it wasn't offered I'd just drink something else. I'm sure you aren't have every beer or wine available. It just really isn't possible to have everyone's favorite drink.

Im going to make white sangria with the champagne and have that as an option (as well as normal champagne). Yummo!

We don't like it either. We are using a pink Moscato for our toast.

For our toast we will have champagne with a red raspberry and sparkling cider with an orange raspberry, & cocktail hour with white sangria, a red and two beers. The pink sounds really pretty.

See that's what I'm afraid of... if we actually have it and it's a complete waste. Could go towards more vodka and beer.

You're not alone in disliking champagne. My fiancé HATES champagne. He always chokes down a sip with a smile when he has to. lol Our venue includes the champagne toast in the price, so we're keeping it (and their champagne tastes good to me)...but since we're having a King's table, we and the wedding party are having a bottle of moscato brought in for us. No one will know the difference at the reception. There are always ways to work around things. My future in-laws had a different soup at their wedding than the rest of the guests.

Our venue provides enough Champagne for everyone to have a glass to toast with. I hate champagne by itself, but do like it with fresh strawberries or raspberries. So they said they'll ask as it's being poured if anyone would like to add fresh strawberries.

I do not like wine or champagne. I had Captain Morgan and ginger ale in my glass . It looked like champagne and tasted great.

I don't like champagne at all except in mimosas. I will have a moscato and FH can have champagne. I'm going to get some just because our signature drink will be a mimosa.

I think you should give champagne another chance! One really fun event to do is zip tie guests together and have them finish one bottle each. Call it “Champagne & Shackles.” It’s a fun ice-breaker and loosens everyone up to have a good time!
