Ceremony Music, DJ
He was very nice and personable the first time we met him. He went on to say that he would give unlimited planning time in order to make our wedding as perfect as could be. As the date got closer he was harder and harder to get a hold of. He had me fielding some calls regarding the venue and I thought for about 2 days I might have to get another DJ because he didn't have the right equipment. Then when I got a hold of him it all worked out. His services the day of the wedding were good. We ate dinner after the guests and he was supposed to distract them while we got to eat-- he just sat there and let our guests look at us. I was praying that he would get on the microphone and say something but he didn't. He never messed up any of our songs and played them exactly the way I had asked. He also avoided those songs I asked him to. He was pretty flexible about our mother-son dance song and ended up playing it off a cd without even knowing what it was (a issue with the groom's mother, which I thought he handled very well). Additionally plans changed at the last minute for the ceremony music and it went off without a hitch. At the end of the night we asked him to stay about 30 minutes later and he only agreed when I explicitly said I would pay him (of COURSE I will pay you!). He waited until we had packed up the entire room at the end of the night and were walking down the stairs arms full-- he walked up and raised his eyebrows (meaning, please pay me). It was a bit of a disaster. If only he could have asked to be paid while we were in the room getting everything taken down and no one was doing anything. His prices were nice and he was a fine guy to talk to and overall did a fine job. But I wish he had been more professional, empathetic and flexible enough to see what is needed (distraction so the wedding party can eat!) and do it. And I also wish that he was a little easier to get a hold of right before the wedding after I had already paid him.
