Kelly did try to do a good job but seemed to fall through in the end. Many of the vendors complained about her to me. The caterer said they had never heard from her that we were using them (months after the decision was made) and the venue tried to cancel after what they said was her lack of experience and professionalism. We spent tons of money on things like AC units and she didn't even make sure the power source was available so that they were too far away from the tables and a waste of money. She had some cute ideas but all in all I ended up having to do most of the organizing and checking on things myself!

While I appreciate Chevys feedback, a year later, it seems she's forgotten quite a few details. Regarding the caterer, it seems he is playing both sides of the fence because he called me personally to thank me for keeping running everything so well. He apologized for not giving me respect for being so professional. He also apologized for not realizing that the person running the venue was really the one who was causing so much trouble. Also, Chevy hired us full service, then changed her mind and only had us contracted for partial planning- which means that she was responsible for all her contracts and follow through. Several weeks before the wedding, she changed her mind again. We still have all our documentation proving that we had constant contact with ALL her vendors while we were her full service planners.
The issues at the venue were extreme. The site manager promised several things- under contract and then refused to come through at the last moment. What Chevy was unaware of is that the day of the wedding, just 4 days after a final walk thru, 75% of the power sources were no longer working. The site manager left the property to go home for the day rather than have the outlets fixed. This is just one of nearly a dozen failures on the venues fault that Chevy did not know about. I will happily provide Chevy with a full disclosure of the many failures from that we corrected on her behalf so that she could enjoy her wedding. To be honest, I see that unless I do this, it would seem that I would be the one to blame because I didn't "tell on" the couple of vendors who really failed. Both of which I never did and never will refer or recommend. But if she or anyone else knew how much we were able to fix during her planning they would realize that we did an exceptional job.
Chevy is an exceptionally nice person and has a wonderful family, she had a beautiful wedding. I'm really sorry that I'll now have to let her know how and why everything behind the scenes was so poor because it's going to leave a bad perspective of her wedding and planning process rather than allow her to enjoy the happiness that her wedding was.
