We had our wedding ceremony at St. John. I have been a member at that church since I was a baby! I was baptized there! Growing up I would dream about my wedding being there, and it came true! The church is amazing! The feeling you get when you step in the church is overwhelming and calm at the sametime. The ceremony was beautiful and traditional and Father Garabed was great through out the whole planning of the wedding and very easy to talk to. He makes you feel so welcome. our guests said they got goosebumps when they walked in and during the ceremony. The church encouraged use to decorate it and allowed our photographers to get great pictures.
Everything about this venue was perfection. The church is beyond beautiful.
The Grand Ballroom is spectacular. The decor is elegant and tasteful and yet allows for your own creations to shine through. Paul allows and even encourages you to make this your own space, so that your day is special and meaningful to you. He is a master at what he does and is very approachable. He has a calmness that completely sets the mood for your whole experience. He is present during your entire evening and is the ultimate problem solver. The maid of honor forgot her speech and he took the time and worked it out so that she was able to pull it from his computer. Two children's meals were ordered but at dinner time, 4 more were requested and delivered without missing a beat. Not sure how they pulled that off but it was never made to be my problem.
Not only did he orchestrate a perfect meal with appetizers to die for, a gorgeous sweet table and an afterglow invented by the bride and groom, but he also arranged for a pre-ceremony meal for the girls so they would be nourished before their long day even began. This was a must and should be included in all wedding plans. The appetizers were unique and the best I've ever had. The main meal was amazingly, fresh, moist, hot and did not resemble banquet food in any way. This was 5 star restaurant food at its best.
We had 250 guests and it never felt cramped as many other venues feel. The dance floor is more than ample and was always full and yet not over crowded. The ceiling is so high with gorgeous lighting that it makes the room appear even larger than it is, but never felt empty. The band and DJ have a spot on stage which allows for more room for guests and extras.
The head table area is perfect with a beautiful backdrop to showcase the bridal party. Again, you can have any set up that you would like. Round, square, rectangular, sweet heart or a mixture of everything. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. Everything was taken care of immediately, without even realizing that people were doing jobs all around you. Quiet, quick and quite invisible. It just all clicked. It appeared that everyone working loves what they are doing.
The lobby area had comfortable seating and was used by some of the elderly guests to get away from the ballroom hoopla or to wait for their ride to pull up to the doors. It was very roomy and was able to nicely house, scrap books, a huge seating chart and the sign in book all with dedicated tables and room to move around.
The timeline that Paul used was perfect and at no time did we feel fearful that there would be a lull in the action. Our guests stayed until after the very last song had played and stated that they wished it wouldn't end. It truly was One Enchanged Evening.
Thank you Paul and St John's Armenian Church and Banquet Facility.
