To whomever is "representing" Flora Designs on this website, all I can say is, "wow". Maybe you're not aware, but weddingwire.com is a resource a lot of brides utilize when planning their weddings. You have now just made yourself - and the company your represent - look like the biggest [insert bad word(s)] in the entire floral industry. Congratulations. Your response is unprofessional on so many levels. Never mind the fact that a) you obviously can't spell, and b) you were never taught proper grammar, but the disrespect you have shown to the bride and her family in your unwarranted tirade is what people will remember when they are choosing florists in the future. Word of mouth can be the best source (or in your case, the worst source) of marketing and advertisement. I would say that you should hold yourself accountable for the loss of business that Flora Designs will endure in the near future as a result of your unprofessional response.
On a different note, I'd love to know why you feel it is important to note your 11 years of education at the "local college". If I was up for "Floral Designer of the year", I think I would be embarrassed to admit that it took 11 years to learn how to do my job. And by the way, a quick google search of "Floral Designer of the year" results in no award that is noteworthy or even worth mentioning. Perhaps you made it up to make yourself feel important? I find it amusing that you chose to point out how much Renate spent on her floral arrangements. In your attempt to make her look "cheap", you really bring attention to your ignorance. Is your work really worth so much more money than the $870.00 she spent on flowers? I think not. Take a look around you superstar. Do you see the hole in the wall you work in Mr. Floral Designer of the year? Perhaps you don't maintain a working knowledge of your field (although, you try to make yourself sound like an expert), but according to the Bridal Association of America, the average cost for wedding flowers (everything included) is $698. Renate obviously spent much more than that--which doesn't make her cheap by any definition. Perhaps you should check your facts before attempting to insult someone. Lastly, it would not surprise me if you yourself have never been married. Your total lack of respect for women makes it apparent that you are probably alone in your life. However, if by chance you are married or in a relationship, please pass along my condolences along to your wife and/or gay lover. I sympathize with them for having to share a life with you. BRIDES: Lesson of the day... choose a different florist.

Overall, I was very unhappy with Flora Designs. Our wedding was on a Sunday and my dad was picking up the flowers at 11:30. The store however is not open on Sundays and we had a horrible time getting in contact with them just to pick them up. The boutonnieres were literally falling apart, my mother-in-law had to pin them back together and use string to fix them. My brother in-law's could not even be fixed and they had to use a fake one from the church. The flower girl's and my bouquets had pins poking out of the stems that I had to fix in the limo on the way to the ceremony. For paying over $900 for flowers, it DEFINITELY was not a good value and if I could do it over I would not pick them again.

I am a bit confused as to this review for several reasons. So Renate you get NO STARS OUT OF FIVE! For One the only problem that I heard about and find hard to believe is their boutonnieres fell apart and were magically recreated with string and pins. Who is her mother in law, MCGiver? I have been creating floral decor for over 25 years and am presently up for Floral Designer of year. I hand wire EVERY boutonniere and Corsage as I was taught the correct way to create flower arrangements as well as taught professionally at a local college for over 11 years. Apparently This bride CANNOT be pleased considering I came in on my day off to personlly create her wedding flowers so they were fresh for her pick up on Sunday which as she stated we are not open and did open on time for her Father to pick up the flowers because she was too cheap to have them delivered for 25.00 to take the stress away from her parents on the wedding day. I spoke to her parents On Saturday when they came in and said they were trying to get a hold of us earlier We returned the call to Renates Cell phone when the shop opened at its normal Time. Her parents were concerned as we were not open to the public on Sundays, however, I explined to them that we open every Sunday to deliver to four local churches. There was no reason for concern except for Drama that Obviously Renate needed to stir up. When I told them the number we returned the message to they said oh that is her cell phone I do not know why she did not tell us. To put their minds at ease I gave them not only MY PERSONAL cell phone number The Owners TWO Personal Cell Phones and the SHops number for after hours orders. HOW MANY MORE NUMBERS DID SHE NEED. I NEVER RECEIVED ONE PHONE CALL SAYING SHE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM and We opened and gave the flowers to her father 1.5 hours earlier than originally stated to appease their Unwarrented Fears. The shop has been in business for over 28 years you do not keep your doors open for that long by being a screw up. Secondly immediately when we were alerted to the Boutonnirere problem Renates mother was refunded in full for ALL five boutonnieres even though when questioned she could not show me where on the rose it came apart and when I said everything was wired she acknowleged the fact that the stem was wired. Also She said nothing of any of the other complaints and in fact said not to worry she would be back since she had another daughter to wed and she loved the flowers. Third point is 870.00 dollars for a wedding was below our minumum to begin with but because her mother was a previous client Against my better judgement did the wedding any way which goes to prove a point of no good deed goes unpunished. I treat every wedding as if it is my own daughters and give the best value for what the client can afford. We buy flowers of highest quality and my standards far exceed any brides because MY name is on the product If I feel the flowers are inferior I will not use them and make a suitable and higher grade substitution. In Closing to all brides out there reading this, most Florists are artists and want to please every client and give them more than expected which is the normal reviews our shop gets as you can see. All I can say is that I was floored at your comments to Renate. So much so that I waited several days to respond just so that I could calm down first. I am the father of the bride and I can not believe the attack that you went on concerning my daughter and I quote you giving her NO STARS OUT OF FIVE, she at least gave you 2 stars which is more than you deserved. I found your response very juvenile and not business like at all. You attacked the bride her parents and her mother in law. This was her SPECIAL day and NO she was not going to try and call you on her wedding day to complain as you suggested. Just so you know her mother in law used to work for a florist and the problem with the boutonnireres was that you had put the wire too low and they were breaking off before they could even be put on the wedding party. She was only able to fix them because she was trained and knew what to do, lucky for us. As for the pins sticking out of the bouquets, my wife did not mention that because we survived it and it was not as much of an issue as the boutonnieres. It was however still an issue.The phone call that I placed to the shop was at 11 am on a Friday and we never received a call back until 3pm the next afternoon, the day before the wedding. You never gave us your personal cell phone and we NEVER asked you to come in on your day off. In fact if coming in on your day off means that your quality of workmanship will be degraded maybe you should stop coming in on your day off. Yes we did receive a refund for the 5 boutonnieres but that did not relieve the stress that we were feeling on her big day. Mostly for you to insinuate that Renate would be getting married again is extremely rude and not proffesional at all. You can try to pacify future customers by twisting what happened and making Renate and her entire family look like the bad guys here, but the mere fact that you responded with such anger and animosity is enough to show future customers how very unprofessional and rude you really are. The owner that opened the shop for me the day of the wedding seemed like a very nice man, too bad I can not say the same for you. Lastly, you had mentioned that you consider yourself an artist, well I have a suggestion for you, maybe you should go back to finger painting.
