What's with the name?

"And do you see [...] men passing along the wall carrying all sorts of vessels, and statues and figures of animals made of wood and stone?" Wood and stone, a quote directly from Aristotle's Allegory of A Cave, was originally a folk/blues project started in 2011. The name stuck, so rather than going by his given name, Jarred Matthew, Wood & Stone is a pseudonym ("stage name") that describes the variety of styles and themes his music represents; think - Peter Herndandez (aka Bruno Mars), Reginald Dwight (aka Elton John) , Stevland Judkins (aka Stevie Wonder), or Sam Beam (aka Iron and Wine).
