Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Dan has received his masters degree from PPA and has been photographing weddings for over 15 years. He also continues to refine his eduction by attending classes and seminars every year, so yeah!

How many photographers do you work with?
We send two photographers to every wedding. Sometimes a third will go along and stay through formals.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
As much as that's possible, yes. As long as Dan doesn't regrow his appendix we should be fine!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Never more than one function per day. We want to be totally focused on each client.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Besides having more than one photographer on staff, we are members of local and national photographic societies. In other words we have lots of photographer friends...

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Professional level Cannon's and lighting. We've also had use for needle and thread on occassion.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes! Absolutely!!

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Typically we base our day on up to 10 hours. As storytellers we want to chronicle the entire event.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
We rarely see that happen. In any event those clients almost always have built a custom package.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We really only break to eat, but of course we keep our eyes open to make sure we aren't missing anything. That's why we prefer to eat in the room where possible.

Do you charge for travel?
Only if an overnight stay is required.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
The proof books are delivered in 4 weeks.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
The proof prints are delivered in an album and the digital files are uploaded to a unique website.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever!

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
In most cases. As professionals we are best qualified to achieve maximum results from the files we created.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, they are posted after the couple receives their proof album and remain for 6 weeks.

What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of albums from traditional to digitally designed and matted or flush mounted. We can go totally custom, we even have an album covered with a pair of jeans!

When will the client get the final album?
That depends on the client. Ideally we aim for 6 months, but newleyweds have a lot going on!

Tips and Advice

Visit several studios and ask lots of questions. It's Ok to do some preliminary leg work electronically, but it's uber important to meet the person that will be in your company for a huge part of your big day. Besides, we love any excuse to fire up the Keurig!

Make sure you are seeing current samples of actual events(not staged model sessions)- created by the person that will be photographing your event.

Relax and enjoy the ride. Getting there is half the fun!
