Additional Questions and Answers
What kind of couples hire you?
Fun ones! Many couples let me know right away they’re coming to me because they don’t want traditional photos - but creative ones that are artsy.
What do we get with one of your packages?
It depends on the package, but all of them include your high-resolution digital images that allow you to make as many prints of your photos as you’d like. Some packages also include engagement sessions and albums. Please e-mail for my wedding guide that outlines my packages.
We like your photography style, but how do we know we’ll like you?
I encourage all couples to meet with me at my studio, where we’ll sit down and chat about your wedding and get a feel for each other. I usually meet with couples anywhere from half an hour to a few hours. There’s no rush, and we can even go for coffee or ice cream. If we’re a good fit – which is so important! – we go from there. And if you’re fun, laid back and quirky, we’ll get along fine.
OK, say we meet with you and totally want to hire you - what do we do to make sure we get you for our date? Just fill out my wedding contract – pretty basic stuff – and return it to me with the deposit (the amount depends on which package you get), and your date is reserved. Please remember your date is not reserved until the contract and deposit are received.
What’s the deal with engagement sessions?
E-sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other before your wedding day. It gives you a chance to get in front of the camera and be comfortable and let’s me see how the both of you interact. Some of my wedding packages include e-sessions, and you can add on an engagement session if your package doesn’t include it. You get 20-plus high-resolution digital images from your e-session. Another bonus to e-sessions is I offer custom guestbooks (forget those cheesy ones!) using your engagement photos. I also offer custom engagement and save the date announcements using your engagement photos.
Where will we shoot our engagement photos?
Sometimes a couple already knows where they want their photos done. If you’re having trouble deciding, I can make suggestions.
How much time we should we allow for photos of just the two of us on our wedding day?
I encourage couples to see each other before the ceremony to allow for more relaxing photos, so we’re not rushed to get to the reception. I like to spend at least 45 minutes alone with a couple, when possible, but appreciate more time. Shooting these photos before the ceremony can allow up to two hours or so of shooting time – this makes it possible to go to a second location for photos as well.
Do you shoot same-sex ceremonies?
Yes.
