Mrs. K's Toll House, and especially Tisheeka, did an amazing job hosting our reception! Every step of the way Tisheeka was there to help plan our reception out to make sure my wife and I had an incredible night. Tisheeka and her staff made the whole night run so smoothly, did a great job setting up all of our decorations (she even took care of all of the flowers we dropped off the day before the reception and brought them to life even more!) and made sure my wife and I didn't have to worry about a thing all night! The beautiful gardens were also a great location for us to take photos. Tisheeka and Mrs. K's made sure we had an incredible reception and we can't recommend them enough for anyone looking for where to host their reception! Mrs. K's is a beautiful, light filled place with beautiful gardens outside.

My husband and I were looking for a venue that would be LGBT welcoming (not just friendly) as well as a place that would help us organize ourselves for the day of the wedding. The staff at Mrs K’s (and especially Tisheeka) was both welcoming and organized. We started planning about 6 months before the event and Tisheeka was warm and helpful for all of my questions. She helped me organize and gave suggestions on layout and arrangement to make our ideas come to life. On the day of the event, we had debated hiring a “day of” organizer, but that was entirely unnecessary. Tisheeka and her staff took charge of organizing the vendors, our extra materials, and our arriving guests. We could not have been happier.

We had no worries during the event and everything ran smoothly. Tisheeka and her staff kept the event on time and everything ran like clockwork. The staff were there for us whenever we needed anything (and anticipated our needs here and there) and stepped back when needed. I would highly recommend Mrs K’s to our LGBT friends and family looking for a wedding venue.

My husband and I initially wanted to elope and skip the whole wedding planning all together. However, the more we thought about it we decided we wanted an intimate wedding to celebrate with family and close friends. During my search I stumbled across Mrs K’s on WeddingWire. The pictures of the garden made me want to visit this place and see if it would be a good fit for what we were looking for. When we first took a tour of the garden and met Tisheeka Wallace, we automatically knew that this was the place we wanted to have our wedding. We also fell in love with the Wine Cellar it was romantic and intimate, and the access to the outdoor/patio space was exactly the vibe we were going for. However, our vision coming to life wouldn’t have been possible without Tisheeka Wallace the Catering Director, she was absolutely amazing from the first day we met her up until our wedding day. I had no worries on my wedding day, she and her staff took care of everything. Our wedding was on Saturday October 5, the garden was absolutely beautiful and the wine cellar decor came out just how I envisioned. I want to thank Tisheeka for her responsiveness to my 100 emails and handful of visits. She always made sure she had time to go over all my questions and concerns with a warm demeanor . On top of all of that, the food was delicious, the service is excellent. We received so many compliments from our guests regarding the food. And most importantly the price was reasonable, which is what we were looking for with our limited budget. Can’t wait to visit Mrs Ks again soon!

We held a baby shower at Mrs. K, not a wedding. We planned the entire event from across the country and thanks to Tisheeka Wallace, everything was absolutely perfect. Right from the very start, Ms. Wallace inspired confidence. I had a lot of questions about utilizing the space well, about making sure we served a festive and delicious brunch buffet that was uniquely “Maryland,” about timing, and about bring in and setting up a lot of decorations. Tisheeka answered every single question in record time, over a period of months. She was always enthusiastic about brainstorming with me and offered wonderful suggestions. She knows her stuff. She could not have been any nicer, or more efficient and true to her word, she was fully in charge of the situation the minute we arrived on the day of the shower. The servers were also friendly, professional and set a nice tone. I would not have changed a single thing.

This was the best day I could have imagined. Tisheeka and her staff took care of everything and I felt completely stress-free the whole day. Throughout the planning process, Tisheeka was very responsive. I must have emailed her over a hundred times for the past year. She was very helpful, offered her thoughts when asked, and let us make the final call.

We lucked out and got the perfect weather--low 70s and sunshine. We had a brunch wedding that went from 12-4:30pm. My bridesmaids and I arrived at 7am to get our hair and makeup done at the venue. She was so gracious and arrived early to open the venue for us and served us coffee and tea.

Her and her staff took care of everything. We had corn hole boards during the cocktail hour, which they setup. They also helped us setup our polaroid guest book outside and moved inside once the reception started. When it was time to move the cards and gifts box, they asked our maid of honor and best man to do it, which was very thoughtful. That definitely shows we can trust them.

Our guests loved the food and by the end, we left and everything was taken care of. Can't rave enough about Mrs. K's. Not only is it great service from everyone there, but how affordable the venue is. Such a hidden gem. Wish people knew more about this place!

We chose Mrs. K's for our ceremony and reception because their grounds are incredibly beautiful, and conveniently located in the DMV area. I had no idea how spectacular Tisheeka and her staff would be!

Other reviews here mention that Tisheeka and her staff took care of every little thing, but I was repeatedly stunned at how much that really was the case. I had planned to have the groom and his groomsmen help with setup (cards/gifts tables, escort cards, table numbers, etc.) but Tisheeka insisted that there was no need, and handled every little thing perfectly. The groom and I and our entourages just had to show up, take pics, and wait for the ceremony. When it was time for that, she personally told every member of the wedding party where to be so as to avoid anyone seeing me, and told everyone where to gather, when/where to walk, etc. She even fixed my train and veil before sending me out the door and down the aisle!

During our outdoor cocktail hour, it started to rain lightly, and I was panicking about our guestbook fingerprint tree getting rained on. Before I could flag someone down to ask to have it brought inside, I saw that it had already been taken care of. There were countless things like this that reinforced over and over that I really did not have to worry about a single detail. Tisheeka and her staff not only went above and beyond, but her staff were lovely and my guests loved them. They were so friendly, yet professional, and my friends quickly made friends with the bar staff, who was delightfully charming.

At the end of the night, we sadly did our sendoff and went back inside to break down our decor and box it all up to leave. Best surprise of the evening -- it had already been boxed up for us, exactly the way we had boxed it up before the wedding! Words cannot express how wonderful Tisheeka and her staff were for our wedding, and that on top of being a beautiful venue. I can't recommend them enough!

Mrs. K's was a beautiful venue for our wedding and reception. We really appreciated the commitment of the staff and how they took care of every detail on the day of our wedding. Tisheeka is a highly experienced and skilled wedding coordinator who was a joy to work with. Mrs. K's is an incredible value in the DC area, and we highly recommend it.

I can not express enough how wonderful the staff and venue at Mrs. K’s Tollhouse was for our wedding on 9/23/17. Tisheeka Wallace, Catering Director was absolutely fabulous. I had NO worries and she and her staff took care of EVERYTHING! I had the perfect wedding. We had our wedding on a Saturday at 12:00 noon and reception in the Terrace Room until 4:30. The garden was absolutely beautiful.

I had my ceremony and reception here. Everything was perfect and Tisheeka is awesome. I couldn't have wished for a more perfect day!

Mrs. K's Toll House was the absolute perfect wedding venue. It has the garden that is beautifully manicured, the wine and barrel room (which makes for stunning photos) and the terrace which perfectly accommodated our 65-guest wedding. However, the BEST thing about Mrs. K's is their Event Planner/Facility Rep, Tisheeka Wallace. She is with you EVERY step of the way and has been at Mrs. K's for over ten years! She knows the ins and out of the venue, helps with set up and breakdown, and even meets with your vendors on-site prior to the wedding to ensure that everyone is on the same page. I cannot say enough about her, her responsiveness, and overall accommodating, warm and flexible attitude. On top of all of that, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the venue just really makes for a breathtaking wedding. I will forever recommend this venue as it holds a very special place in my heart. Thank you Mrs. K's (and Tisheeka and staff) for making our wedding as beautiful as it was.
