I read some of the magazines and I’m amazed at the time line given to brides to choose a florist...a few months...it’s always a suprise to brides when you tell them that their wedding date is not available...I always explain that I only do two weddings a weekend, and when those slots are filled i do not make any exceptions....

I love doing weddings, but I will not sacrifice quality against quantity!!!!  I choose to  do only do two weddings because I take my job very seriously, and I love doing what I do.
A bride’s wedding day is the most special day in her life, and she deserves to know I will do everything possible to make her day special....that she can trust me to have the time to pay attention to her every detail,and in order to accomplish that I choose to do only two weddings...

Like anything else if you want to choose the best in the business please don’t wait to choose your florist until the last few months before the wedding date! Start early, every bride should interview at least 3 different wedding designers, make a list of what you are looking for on your wedding day, from flowers, to decor and use the same list for all the interviews, at the end you can make a logical, well informed decision.

I know I said interviews!!!! Thats really what they are....you are interviewing the best person who is best qualified, gives you the most for your money, and that the bride & groom and her family make what I call the TRUST connection.....if you as the bride don’t feel 100% comfortable that all your needs are being met, don’t settle....keep  interviewing....ask for second interview, (ok they are consultations) don’t be afraid to ask questions, and don't be afraid to let them know your needs are not being met yet....

The other major factor is your budget.....don’t be afraid to let the wedding designer know that you have a budget!!! you should have a price in mind that you are going to spend on your wedding flowers, decor,before you start you consultations, so you will have a realistic budget to work with, and see what you going to get for your money..

I will be honest every wedding designer wishes that every bride had a unlimited budget to work with !!!! But the reality is that every bride does have a budget, sometimes a challenging one at that...but  the good designers, can make any budget work, it just takes creativity, commitment, and caring. Its easy to be a good designer when you dont have to worry so much about  a challenging budget.....you are a great designer when you can make a challenging budget wedding as beautiful as any wedding with a more flexible budget....creativity, creativity, creativity......
