About

Established in 1967, Lake Pines began as a 20-site, family-operated campground in rural East Columbus, Georgia. An old barn served as the recreation center, hosting many covered dish dinners and other events.

Since that time, the owners, Connie and Kenny McCutchen, have poured their love of event planning and outdoors into Lake Pines Event Center. Here, you will find a beautiful venue filled with stained glass windows, antiques, and rustic beauty that can’t be found anywhere else in the area.

The Barn is now a venue for wedding receptions or other events.

The Chapel, completed in 1998, was built from salvaged materials found throughout Georgia and beyond. It is a beautiful setting for exchanging vows and photography sessions.

The Pavilion, an outdoor ceremony option, can accommodate larger occasions.

The Lillie House serves as a bridal suite for ladies to prepare for the day. It can also be used for tea parties and showers, rehearsal dinners, small receptions, and other intimate gatherings.

Lake Pines Event Center wants to help you bring your vision to life, so we offer the freedom of using your own vendors or ones we recommend. We’ll always remember that it’s your special day. Contact us for package information or to schedule a tour.

Breathe taking...

We looked at several places to have our wedding and from the very first minute I knew this was the place. it had everything from the breathe taking chapel to the rustic barn. You can not go wrong. Tiffany was very helpful with everything. She made sure we had enough tables and chairs and was always on top of everything. Our day was one we will never forget. Thank you Lake pines!

November Wedding

Lake Pines is an absolutely beautiful venue and perfect for the rustic look my husband and I desired. The chapel, the barn and the landscape made for beautiful photography. Our day was so special, and the staff gave such care in making sure everything went smoothly for us.

This is a great rustic venue for a wedding under 150 people unless you utilize outside areas. We loved it! The staff was friendly and awesome!

The Chapel and the Barn at Lake Pines have great ambiance. With the romantic string lights they have draped across the ceiling, very little additional decor is needed. Beautiful rustic venue setting.

Not flexible and disrespectful

I dont complain. I rarely leave reviews, but the staff here have been beyond disrespectful and made my special day horrible.

The venue is beautiful. Having the different buildings made it easy to break up events (getting ready, cocktail hour, ceremony and reception). During the planning, staff seemed nice, but the day before and day after they changed and were very rude.

The day before the ceremony they all met me and my now husband at the venue when we got there to decorate, and made us sign another paper about alcohol, which was very strange since we had already hired their bartender...

They say cleanup is included and to put trash in trash cans, and we did. There was a box, a half gallon of orange juice and an empty bottle of champagne left on the counter. There was also a ballon that had confetti inside that burst (i understand the balloon being frustrating for them) They said that was excessive cleaning for them and warranted them keeping the entire deposit.

The staff put on a great front and were helpful up until the day before the wedding. They became a NIGHTMARE!!!

We used rice paper during the outside ceremony and was told by them we had to clean it up not even an hour after my ceremony began. They kept the deposit and pulled another $300 out of my account without authorization or even letting me know they were. After they told us to clean they said if we needed any supplies to ask, then ignored us when we did ask. My sister, mom, dad, father in law, mother in law, and freind all were outside for hours picking up the rice paper. Speeches were missed. There were only 20 people at my wedding, including children. So imagine me sitting in the barn for hours with most of my guests outside picking up biodegradable paper. When i brought this up to the staff they told me pedals are allowed but not the rice paper. Their contract says non biodegradable things are not allowed but the rice paper is biodegradable. After my family picked up the mess I was still charged. When I brought this up to staff the next day he talked to me like I was a child and said it was the worst he has ever seen the venue. I posted the pictures he sent me because they are a joke. My father in law rode up there today and took pictures because the staff just told me over the phone they are going to have to pressure wash to get the rice paper up. The pictures my father in law took show NOTHING there. nothing.

You only get 4 hours to have the reception after the ceremony starts. You can only have beer and wine and it has to be served by someone with an ABC license, but we were the only ones allowed to provide the alcohol. An ABC license is for someone selling alcohol so its hard to find someone with an ABC license that will agree to be there without selling their own alcohol so i had to use someone on their list. it was all fine and no problem, I took care of it and hired someone off of the list they gave me. But the staff still harassed me and said they were upset that I asked questions about having to have an ABC licensed person to serve. (I have the phone call recorded). Wish I could post it.

I cant tell you just how horrible these people made me feel. I wish I could post all the pictures and conversations.

If you want a wedding that is just a ceremony with no decorations then this is your place.

The pictures are what they sent me saying cost me my entire deposit. The rice paper with ingredients is added as well.

Not Flexible for Covid. Kept our money.

This venue absolutely refused to work with my wife an I to reschedule our wedding plans during Covid. At a time when many restaurants are still closed and less than 20% of people are vaccinated. They simply told us to put our friends and family at risk and use our current date, or lose all of the money we'd already paid them for the venue. (Or pay them allover again for a new date).

Lake Pines doesn't care bout the safety of you and your guests. They want your money and that's all.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.

Lovely quaint venue. Chapel has so much charm and the Barn is great for casual rustic events.
