We aren't your regular everyday wedding venue; we're the National Infantry Museum located in Columbus, Georgia, right outside of Fort Benning. Nominated by USA Today for being the nation's number one free museum, the NIM is a grand setting sure to delight and surprise all your guests on your big day. If you desire a fantastic wedding experience, give us a call because we're going to have a great time working together.

Facilities and Capacity

The museum has both indoor and outdoor spaces to be used for ceremonies and receptions. Couples can use the beautifully restored WWII Street Chapel for a smaller ceremony or the larger Cavezza Hall or Lobby for more grand celebrations. The Lobby boasts 6,500 square feet of floor space for a ceremony or reception, while Cavezza Hall offers views of artifacts such as helicopters and Bradley Fighting Vehicles for up to 500 guests. While post-ceremony pictures are taken, guests can relax in the Mezzanine, an open gallery, for cocktail hour. The walls of Heritage Hall are lined with signed prints from the celebrated military artist James Dietz, which up to 150 guests can view during the reception. The Heritage Hall walls can also be shrouded in drapery if couples choose a neutral backdrop for the reception instead. If you'd like to dine and dance under the stars, the Courtyard sets the scene for a gorgeous outdoor wedding, complete with old-south lampposts and a brick-walled garden. Guests can easily use the on-site parking and wheelchair access to the museum.

Services Offered

The National Infantry Museum offers on-site catering and supplies a trusted, preferred vendor list for couples. We are also completely equipped with an integrated audio-visual setup and other portable systems for presentation technology, such as slideshows. The events department's dedicated staff are an excellent information source for wedding planning and can direct couples to the perfect florist or DJ. Covered by liability insurance, the venue also can supply lighting, sound, a wedding suite, and other wedding rentals such as:

  • Altar arches
  • Centerpieces
  • Chairs
  • Linens
  • Dance floors
  • Decorations
  • Drapery
  • Tables

Dream Wedding Secured

The National Infantry Museum was the perfect wedding venue for us! The location is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous views that made every moment feel magical. Their wedding packages were thoughtfully designed, making it easy to choose exactly what we wanted while staying cost-efficient. As a military child, I especially appreciated the military discount, which helped us save so much on our budget while still enjoying a wedding that looked far more extravagant than what we spent.

The staff was truly exceptional—attentive, organized, and committed to ensuring everything went smoothly. They even helped us secure our amazing caterer, Jane Foods, whose roast beef and creamy basil chicken still get compliments from our guests. The entire menu was a hit!

The venue itself is beautiful; we were married in the World War II chapel, held our reception in Cavazza Hall, and enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour in the lobby. The grounds offered plenty of picturesque spots for wedding photos. And having a hotel right on the property was incredibly convenient for both us and our guests. The hotel was immaculate, with friendly service that made our stay even better. I can’t say enough good things about the National Infantry Museum—it was everything we hoped for and more!

January Wedding 2022

My husband and I chose to get married at the Infantry Museum because we think it's a beautiful venue and we had heard great things about it. However, they were in the middle of changing staff, which made things very complicated. My mom should've been the one getting paid because she basically did everything. She was running all the numbers, contacting the venue & the caterers. They couldn't even remember the original prices or options they gave my mom at the beginning of planning all of this. It was very frustrating the day of the wedding. Our linens were wrong, our salad choice for food was wrong, we chose the cheese and cracker and fruit appetizer, and it was wrong, they said we would have two bartenders & we had one (and she was VERY SLOW), our guests would spend $10+ on a drink at the bar, set it on their table, and go dance and when they would return to the table, their drink would be gone. They started tearing down everything when we still had guests there, the wedding planner the day of was very rude to some of our wedding party, etc. I could go on and on, but we were very displeased with the staff at the NIM. I would not recommend any of my friends getting married there because they didn't make it an enjoyable and stress free experience for us when it should've been.

National Infantry Museum Wedding Review - The Williams

My wedding at the National Infantry Museum exceeded all my expectations. The staff was incredible and made the process of wedding planning much easier. Wesley is an amazing chef and created a beautiful rehearsal and reception menu. Megan was a blessing to have for this event. Her services are completely worth getting! Her positive attitude, expertise, and willingness to help where ever needed, was the icing on top of the cake. My family, friends, myself, and now husband couldn't have been happier to have gotten married at The National Infantry Museum.
