I’m Kait, a wedding and lifestyle photographer in Charleston, SC. I had my start in the fashion photo industry in NYC working at Hearst’s in-house photo studio with magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire, and I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything! I moved back to the south and began my wedding photography journey, and I’ve been so dang lucky to have photographed over 300 couples and counting since!
Kait Winston couples like getting silly and weird. They dance around and toss each other in the air and have tickle fights unprompted and play tag just because. These cuties love photos of themselves laughing because it’s real and authentic. I capture all the joy and your personalities because I want you to look back and not just see beautiful photos. You should look back at your images and remember how you FELT.
One of the most important things to me is that we are a good fit. My couples trust me fully and fiercely to document their love stories before and during the big day. It’s the raw, unfiltered candid beauty in every little thing that makes a day like this so incredible.

The most fun!
We cannot say enough good things about Kait! She was incredible to work with, and we were absolutely blown away by the photos of our wedding. We didn't really have any clear goals picture-wise - just that we wanted a lot of candid photos of our guests enjoying themselves. Kait absolutely took the lead on all of our portraits and wedding party photos and absolutely crushed it. We couldn't be more happy with Kait or the photos we got back. She was even able to accommodate our request for a second shooter at the absolute last minute.
Kait is the best, a dream to work with and you should absolutely hire her for your wedding!

Amazing person and so talented
Kait was such an amazing photographer! Our pictures turned out beautiful and she was able to capture the happiness of the day in a candid way. She is also so fun to hang out with - and made us feel at ease in front of the camera. Her turnaround time and responsiveness was absolutely amazing.

Kait was amazing to work with! The pictures look beautiful and she gave us so much variety to choose from. I loved every single one of my wedding photos. She also has an incredible turn around time. You’ll get your photos in about a week or two after your event! Amazing!!!

One of the pivotal investments that you make when planning your wedding is choosing your photographer. What was important to me was not only we would have portraits of the day, but that we would also have pictures of the small details, the candid shots, moments that could have been otherwise forgotten. Another priority was how the photos were being edited; I wanted to find someone who was capable of bringing vibrant, lifelike colors in the photos, but subtly enough that it wouldn't seem artificial. I'm sure that balance is difficult to master, especially in different lighting settings.
Kait was able to provide this and more. Her easy-going personality makes her incredibly approachable, she was very responsive to any questions that I had throughout planning, even while she was on vacation! Not only that, but she was able to complete our wedding album exactly one week after the event. That kind of turn-around time seems to be unheard of in the wedding industry. But don't let her quick editing skills fool you; she is detailed-oriented, and is capable of making any scene look magical in her art. I could not have picked a better photographer than Kait.
