As a film shooter, I have different films depending on the lighting and situation. I often use true black and white film, and I love to use sepia toned images while shooting outside. The warmness of the black and white lends itself to skin tones so well. One of a kind, fine art prints and wax pieces are also available for your favorite wedding images.

We use film almost exclusively, and are very confident in using digital for certain situations. Film has richness and a depth that is much broader than digital. It really lends itself well to weddings? All of your negatives are scanned so you have high resolution digital copies of all images. A mixture of color film, and true black and white films are used for a fine art feel which really cannot be emulated with digital photography?

All wedding packages include both me and my assistant/second shooter. She will sometimes second shoot if I do not need her help loading cameras or holding a reflector. If you would like a full second shooter, I have photographers whom I have trained and would be happy to photograph your wedding with me?

Yes, of course! I have never missed an event, but I have several amazing photographers who would be willing to step in if some unforeseeable act of god occurred.

No. I will only photograph one wedding per day?

I have 4 film cameras, and 2 digital cameras, numerous lenses, flashes, a video light, extra memory cards, tripod, reflector, and batteries? Although I would not need all of this equipment, it is always good to have extra in case something malfunctions.

Most packages are custom made and are based on full day coverage. If you would like to inquire about a smaller package, just call me, and I will be happy to try and accommodate your wedding wishes.

Yes, overtime rates are $450/hour.

We only take a small break to eat dinner, usually while you and your guests are eating your main course.

It depends on your destination. Travel expenses are considered extra? but if your wedding is within 150 mile radius, there are no additional costs for traveling. We have traveled throughout the United States for weddings, and really love destination jobs. I would be happy to make a quote for you if you are getting married out of Southern California.

The normal turn around time for you to receive your box of images is about 3 weeks.

Most packages include a full set of photographic prints for you to keep, and a high resolution disc of all of your images. I can also put your images online for friends and family to view and purchase if you would like.

What does Beaux Arts Photographie mean? 

Beaux Arts Photographie is the old French term for fine art photography.  Kirsten Ellis, owner of Beaux Arts Photographie, studied fine art in Europe for a year before deciding to attend one of the best photography schools in the country, Brooks Institute, in Santa Barbara, California. 

I always think it's important to work with my brides on their timelines.  We want to make sure that you have planned in your timeline the correct amount of time for the photographs you want, so that you are not rushed day-of.  It is also important to think about the time of day you are planning photos.  We need to make sure to get all the important photographs before dark.  Sunlight allows us to be more flexible with the types of images we can capture...
