Other Services
Couples who choose Barnsley Resort for their celebration of love will be able to take part in a Southern tradition prior to their wedding day. This tradition is called "Burying the Bourbon" and it is meant to keep the weather from turning gloomy on your special day. Couples who wish to participate in this long-standing tradition will bury a bottle of bourbon in our Tipsy Garden. Then, on the night before the wedding, couples dig up the beverage and can share amongst their loved ones.
History
Barnsley Resort was created nearly 200 years ago by Godfrey Barnsley. He built it for his wife, Julia, who he married on Christmas Eve. The manor was originally called the Woodlands and it was inspired by the work of Andrew Jackson Downing.
