When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we decided to have the ceremony and the party at my in-laws. We started looking for officiants and after going through a couple of sites, we decided to give Arizona Wedding Pastors a call to set up a time to meet. John was great. He met us at a location that was close to where we were. When we first met John, he was so kind and humble. His intention was to make our day about us and worked with us throughout the entire process. He was ready with some ideas, as we really had no idea what we were doing. John stressed that he didn't want us to take his ideas if we weren't comfortable with them. He took the time to get to know us as individuals and as a couple and tried to work our history into the ceremony. After meeting him, I did not want to keep looking for an officiant; I wanted John to be the one to perform our ceremony. My husband and I live in Tucson and John is located in Phoenix, so we worked together by email. John was even willing to meet us a second time if we wanted to. He was very responsive when we sent him our ideas and what we wanted our ceremony to look like. We sent him a few poems that we wanted in our ceremony and he really took the time to read what we had chosen and work them into the entire ceremony to make it cohesive and special. John really understood what we wanted and gave us something better than we even dreamed of. John was incredibly helpful and walked us through the entire process.
The day of the ceremony was filled with people running around trying to make things work. We originally wanted to do the ceremony outdoors during sun set. John was prepared to come to the house for the ceremony at 6:15, as planned. A few days before, he got an email from us asking if we could move up the ceremony by half an hour. John said that would not be a problem. He was very flexible with us. We were married on April 9th, 2011. For weeks before the wedding, Phoenix was sunny and warm. Things changed dramatically the day of the wedding. It was cold, cloudy and raining. We ended up moving the wedding indoors. John was ready for anything and everything. He really did make this day about me and my husband.
