A native of Detroit, Christina Tamarelli is currently pursuing a Master of Music Degree in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan where she studies with Joan Raeburn Holland. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Harp Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she was a student of world renown harpist, Yolanda Kondonassis. She started her harp studies with Mary Bartlett at the age of eight.

She has spent summers at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Pierre Monteux School in Maine. In May 2009, Christina Tamarelli won the Alice Chalifoux Prize in Harp.

She recently performed with Ballet Theater of Ohio Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra for a Young Person's Concert series. In Cleveland, she performed with the Cleveland Philharmonic, Suburban Symphony, and The Cleveland Institute of Music Symphonic Orchestra and New Music Ensemble.

As well as performing, Ms. Tamarelli enjoys writing and the business side of music. During the summer of 2009, Christina held an internship at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in the library, development, and archives divisions. She has been published in The Harp Column Magazine.

An enthusiast of new music, she has performed and worked alongside several composers. Some composers she has collaborated with include Michael Daugherty, Jeremy Allen, John HC Thompson, Margaret Brower, Wil Pertz, Cengiz Eren, and Juan Montoya.
