ZB Jewelers (Tungsten and Titanium Bands Advice)

NikNak, on March 27, 2017 at 3:45 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

FH and I won a free pair of wedding bands from ZB Jewelers (Tungsten and Titanium only), and I was wondering if anyone else had ordered from here or purchased a tungsten or titanium band? We're not sure we're going to officially use these bands since we originally had the idea to have white gold filigree bands to match the band of my ering (mine would match completely, and his would be a solid band engraved with the same design), but they were free (minus a shipping and handling fee), so we figured the worst that could happen is that we're not happy with them.

Have any of you/your FH's found that the tungsten rings are too heavy? Since FH doesn't own any jewelry save for one thin ring I gave him years ago that he wears only on special occasions, he's worried it'll bother him/feel uncomfortable.

My FH has a tungsten carbide band. He really wanted tungsten because of its durability and resistance to scratches. It's one of the harder, more durable metals. He loves it. Keeps trying to wear it around the house and our wedding isn't for a few more weeks lol.

My FH went with titanium. He skateboards so they are a stronger and more scratch resistant option for him. The only thing we were hesitant about was if anything were to happen, the ER would have to cut it off his finger because it is so strong; meaning it wouldn't be able to be fixed nor sized. So if his fingers become fat we will just have to buy a new band. Other than that we totally went for it as again the better option and it was perfect. They're not too expensive either if you need to replace it later on. ETA, we went to Shane Co. so I'm not quite sure of ordering through ZB jewelers.

@LittlemissP - does your FH feel like it's heavy to him at all? FH is worried about that, he was actually comparing the weight of the one ring he has to the weight of the tungsten rings on the site.

@Kara, that is actually one of the things I was worried about...

Hey! Not at all, he actually likes the weight of it. It definitely is heavier than my rose gold rings, but he has told me that likes the weight of it. He likes " feeling it there".

Also, the tungsten also would need to be cut off if something happened to his hand. It can't even be resized, so make sure he gets fitted first. We were told though, that in case of an emergency, there are tools to remove the ring safely as to not injure in finger. But just something to keep in mind.

@LittlemissP - I was worried about that too, we had his finger sized, with plain gold bands, and I know that the tungsten can be a little less forgiving, thankfully if he does decide to keep this band as his actual wedding band, this company offers lifetime guarantees and will send him a new band if the size is incorrect.

I got my hubby a tungsten carbide band. He picked it out, it was his favorite Smiley smile he liked the weight of it on his hand, and after two weeks, he doesn't even notice the weight of it. He also liked it for the durability and scratch resistance.

My fiancé loves his and won't consider anything else. I bought him a nice one that fit great at the time... But eventually it got a little too small during the hotter months. So I bought a cheaper one off of amazon or something and he wears that one when his fingers swell up. The cheap ring was $20 and he absolutely loves it and it does not get scratches or anything. (He opens bottle tops with his ring haha) I wouldn't buy him anything other than tungsten! If he's worried about it being uncomfortable he could be right... both the rings I bought are big because my fiancé like to feel that the ring is there. But I think if you just got a thinner band it would be just fine.

We also "won" the wedding bands as well. You can get those types of bands off Amazon and it would be cheaper than paying the fees.
