Zales

Hebron, on June 17, 2016 at 9:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Has anybody else had problems with zales? I sent my three piece engagement ring to be soldered. When I got it back two weeks later the additional bands that go with my ring don't line up on one side:/ has anybody had any issues with their rings there?

The other sides don't have the gap. I was having my ring sized down half a size. I think they sized down the other rings and not this side

I have no personal experience with Zales, but I'd bring it back and ask about. I'd also be asking that they either fix it at no cost (and expedited) or refund you the full price since they screwed up.

I hope they can fix it with no hassle. Good luck!

There have been a few posts on here with people having problems with Kay and Zales. Maybe use the search function to see if they are helpful? Just a thought.

You might consider taking this to an independent jeweler, since you had bad luck with Zales.

I would bring it back and ask them. They should fix it!

ETA: I've had a few rings from Zales for many years. Never had a problem and have had great service!

I've not had any issues with Zales as of yet but I've heard of many who do. I would bring it to an independent jewler first, get an outside opinion.

My ring was bought at Zales, however I have not had any work done through them. Mainly because they didn't have a jeweler in my town so any servicing would require my ring to be shipped to another state and not returned to me for 4 weeks. I have heard a lot of problems with them though so now that I live in a town with a jewelers on site, I am hesitant. I might stick with a local company.

Don't even get me started on Zales!!!! My FH bought my ering there. Had to get it sized. Okay fine. Got it back, it was a little warped but I didn't feel like losing it for another span of weeks. Three days later one of my stones fell out. Send it out again. I get it back and it looks HORRIBLE the previous warping was worse. The bands were uneven and ugly and I was devastated. It took two stores and endless calls to corporate and a month later for me to get a replacement (same one). So in the 3 months I've been engaged, Ive had my ring for about a month total. It's been miserable and taken the joyous experience out of the whole thing. 100% will NOT be buying our bands there. Stay away.

I will never take my ring that was purchased at Kay to a store owned by the same company. Find a local jeweler to do it. Just the thought of my ring not coming back in the condition that I left it in pisses me off. I took mine to a local jeweler to get soldered (and subsequently reversed) and it cost me $75 to get it soldered...and it took an hour.

I've had my share of annoyance with Zales...had to get my E-ring sized twice...always received it at a later date then I was told....had some issues with my diamond falling out and they fixed it...happened again but the second time...I got a completely different ring back....so yeah they mess up a lot...and this one lady in our Zales store had to be brought back to reality after I was done with her....

FH and I purchased a bridal set first week of September. The rings were finally ready so we picked them up yesterday afternoon.

I SEE THE SAME GAPS you're talking about. The diamond wasn't centered on the setting. Mine was slightly shifted to the top right. Not only that, the diamond didn't sparkle as much as it did, and looks hazier. Now, there's also a cloudy inclusion on the edge of the diamond which wasn't there when I picked it out. Not sure if they swapped the diamond but it sure looks like it.

ON TOP of that, I can clearly see where they soldered the ring. Sloppy work right there. One of the little diamonds on the matching band was not set correctly and was lop-sided. The setting had scratches and scuffs all over it. The rings look old and worn and I haven't even had the chance to wear them.

I am planning to go back today and return them. I don't think I want to deal with all the hassle after reading about all the complaints on product and service quality, as well as the deception that many customers had to go through.
