We met via tinder. 😳 LOL
It wasn’t necessarily love at first sight but it was a very comfortable first date. We had talked via text and phone calls prior to our first date and then spent about 3 hours at dinner talking. That was in 2017 and we just got married March 13th!

We actually met at church! we had met maybe two times before but it was in passing like hello and that's it.

but there was one day in church i actually sat down for lunch and there was an open seat next to me. he sat next to me and from that moment on we just really clicked.

i was grateful that i got to get married at that same church we met at Smiley smile

For me it was love at first sight for sure! Apparently it was love at first voice for him haha (I said something and he heard me and just thought “hmmmm I wanna date that girl).
Here we are, over 8 years together, and getting married in 5 and a half months!
We met in English class in high school junior yet. Began dating senior year, and been inseparable since!

My mom is a professor at a local university and and also a director of one of the student theater groups. He does props for them. It wasn’t love at first sight at all 😂. The first time he and I spoke, he told me information on his friend that I thought was super cute lol. But then the theater group preformed down in Florida and we spent some time together and got really close (he was chosen to ride down in my car). When we got back, COVID hit very quickly and the university was shut down to virtual learning only but he comes from not a great home for learning so he petitioned to stay on campus to the remained of the semester to have a quiet place to do virtual studying. We spent like every day together lol. We tried to make keep things up over the summer but it wasn’t working so we stopped talking. Then he came back for Fall semester in August and we immediately hit it off again and started dating in September! Funny enough- His mom thought we were dating back in March 2020 when we were “just friends” and he kept telling her he had no feelings for me at all. And now we’re getting married 🤣 she likes to rub that in his face lol

I met my fiance through mutual friends at a 4th of July celebration. He had a girlfriend when we met, it was just a "nice to meet you, nice to meet you too," and then we went on with our separate days.

Fast forward a few months later: (they had broken up) and he messaged me on Instagram to get info about a dirt bike race and somewhere that he could stay in the town where I lived (he lived 6 hours away from me) that would be dog friendly, etc. Because we had met through such a close mutual friend, I offered him my couch, his dog my yard, and his dirt bike my garage. He had only planned on staying one night, but he stayed for three days and we had a blast riding dirt bikes and going swimming and fishing and playing at the beach.... and we have been inseparable ever since. That was in August of 2018 and we are getting married on July 1!

We met on Bumble 🤣 I would definitely call it pretty close to love at first sight. We were super into each other that first weekend we met and became serious pretty quickly.

We met in law school. We didn’t actually meet until 2nd year. But I remember seeing him the very first week of school. I thought he was really attractive & I was taken aback by that because I’m generally pretty oblivious to people. Didn’t see him or think of him again until we were in an intensive class together the 2nd year. And as soon as he introduced himself I thought “This is going to be the worst year ever!” Seriously thought I would not be able to tolerate him & we had every. Single. Class. Together. 🙄 But after 3 months I guess he rubbed off on me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I also met my MOH in that same class. We’ve all been inseparable for 6 years!

Aww, these stories are so cute.

We met at a colour ball supporting children with cancer and their families. I'd been invited by my sister and her (then new) boyfriend (now husband) who knew the organising committee.

I saw my fiance from across a crowded room (as they say) which was impossible not to do, as he's 6'11" or 210cm. I commented to my sister's partner that I wasn't sure I'd ever seen someone so tall and he took that as interest on my part. It turned out my now-fiance knew the organising committee too, so they contrived to introduce us. Being a good sibling, I didn't want to third-wheel my sister at her first romantic charity ball with her new partner so I spent a lot of the night chatting with him and learned he's the most patient, easy-going man.

At the end of the night he asked how he'd know if I got home safe (so sweet!) I told him to get my number so he could find out! He did, and three years later he proposed at home during lockdown.

We even have a photo of the first night we met which I treasure - it's not so very common that people have a photo of the day they met their husband or wife!

    here it is.

I met my FH on POF. Messaged back and forth for a few weeks. Our first date was hanging out at a bar and then went to another bar haha. I called him when I had parked so he could meet me outside. He did and I was in the phone looking at him smiling with excitement. He reached out to hug me with a huge smile on his face. As soon as I felt his embrace I know he was my soul mate. We spent most of the first date asking each other why are you smiling and are you nervous. It was the best night of my life. He tried to walk away because he was scared to love again but I fought for him and we have been together ever since. It was a absolutely love at first sight.

We were friends for 10 years (met in 2011)! We met working at a restaurant and dated other people throughout those years. We always thought that each other was cute though lol. The end of 2015, we started chatting more and in March 2016, we made it official to start dating. I moved to Tennessee with him in February 2017 and had a beautiful baby boy with him in February 2018. He proposed in August 2020!

We met at a beer festival, through mutual friends. I don’t really believe in love at first sight, but we did exchange numbers that night. We started talking the following day and have been together every since! Together for 5 years, married for 1.5.

So we actually met in our badminton class in college! He had asked me if I was single, but I was seeing someone at that time and we lost touch after that. The next semester we ended up having the same pre-calculus class and I was single lol. The first day I walked in he was already there with his friends, and he sat alone at a 2 seater table, so I sat next to him. We passed notes back and forth like we were in middle school lol, and he asked me to hang out after class!

We actually found out that our wedding photographer was in the SAME badminton class as us when we met LOL! So I guess you could say it was fate. Smiley love

We met in science class in my freshman year of high school - a little over twenty years ago. It was a long, slow burn, and it is rife with silly adolescent feelings.

During roll call the first day of class, being the anxious mess I am, I tried to watch and figure out who was answering to what name so I had some idea of who everyone was. I looked over when he answered, and I thought he was attractive - he had long, wild hair (the best description here is Jim Morrison - just huge, shiny barrel curls, and a jawline to match), bright green eyes, and muscular arms. That was about it.

Sometime after that, he was talking about going to G3 (a guitar tour) and I asked who was playing, and he seemed floored that I knew everyone he was talking about. We talked guitar/guitarists/classic rock for a bit. After that, it seemed like he talked to me most days - but I never thought anything of this because he was a super friendly guy. I also found out he had a bit of a bad boy/rebel reputation, I liken it to John Bender from the Breakfast Club (turned out his home life wasn't much better than the character's, either), and I wasn't really into the "bad boys," so that kept me from feeling much more than "he's a cool guy I like talking to."

I mentioned it in another thread, though, the day I found out this bad boy wasn't a bad boy at all. Our teacher brought in his pet finches, and Mr. Bad Boy was just itching to hold one. Suddenly John Bender looked more like Snow White, holding this little bird like it was made of glass and grinning ear-to-ear. He was so sweet and gentle with this little creature. I realized that this sweet and gentle boy fit what I had seen the whole time (nice, friendly, always laughing and smiling) much better than the "bad boy" rep, and thought... maybe I let that reputation precede him too much. I went over to take the bird as it hopped up his forearm, brushing his arm with my fingers to get it to hop over to me, and when I looked up at him, he looked at me in a way that just felt like the world stopped. (I just got little butterflies remembering it, gosh.) I don't guess it counts as "first sight," but it felt like what I think people must mean when they say that - just bam, like someone threw ice water in my face.

What I know of his side: he thought I was "super cool", but "out of his league". He wanted to ask me out, but he thought for sure I'd say no, so he just admired and was content that I would talk to him and be nice to him. Then the fateful bird encounter happened, and he said that when I touched his arm, he felt like he'd been "hit by lightning," and he decided right then that he was going to find a way to win me over. (It wasn't hard!)
