Your music

Laura, on September 23, 2019 at 3:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

What are you going with for music for your ceremony and reception? A DJ? Band? classical music? Music is important to me even though I have ZERO musical abilities. It's the one thing I HAD to have this time around. My first wedding we didn't have it in the budget and just played the radio. I was not willing to compromise this time.

Our DJ is a guy i've known since I was in 11th grade. He's been a DJ for several years and is cutting us an amazing deal. We had a meeting recently and discussed my must play and must not play list. He's actually going to play music for our ceremony too at no extra cost.

What are you do

We are having a DJ. He is also going to play our ceremony music/ sound system and music during cocktail hour. At first I just had him planning on playing for the actual reception. Then after looking into it more and finding out what it would cost for the ceremony and cocktail hour; he was much more reasonably priced compared to hiring someone for that.

We're having a DJ for both. He'll play instrumental music outdoors for pre-ceremony and ceremony music and then move to our reception area for cocktail hour and the rest of the reception.

IPod for us. Music is important to us but we only need it for the ceremony. So we're hooking up the iPod to a blue tooth speaker and one of my sisters will be running it. We won't have dancing at dinner so it just made sense.

Our ceremony space is a tiny chapel that provides an organist. For the reception we’ll have a DJ, but we haven’t found one yet!

I had a DJ and music was also very important to us. My friends and I are party people so you often find us dancing out or even dancing in so good music was a must. I added music options on my RSVP which didn’t get much back but I know what my people like in general. For my engagement party we had a DJ and this again was a good option for us as reference when planing the wedding. We dance all night long and the floor dance was full at all times!

We're having musicians and a DJ! Our musicians will play/sing during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and the DJ will just be for the reception. Our musicians are a husband & wife couple who sing and play the piano, guitar, and cello. I'm so excited I found them and was about to get 3 instruments & singing within our budget! I'm excited for our DJ too obviously. Smiley smile He does great work as well!

We are having a band play during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We have a piano for the ceremony and a 2 piece jazz band for the cocktail hour. The reception will have the full band!

That is kinda what we are doing too. Just have to find someone to run it as my parents are the most tech savvy people and my sisters are in the bridal party. Our venue is a beach house so it has a built in bluetooth sound system so for on the beach it will be provided through a bluetooth speaker for our ceremony.

We went with a dj also. initially due to budget i was afraid we may not have the room for one but we ended up doing it since we found a good deal for one.
