Your First Look "Look"

LoveBubbles, on December 8, 2015 at 10:28 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

During the first look did you decide to hold your bouquet or go without until later? Same question about your veil, during or after (or some pictures with and some without)? I don't know why but this has been on my brain for days and I need it out and decided. Thanks for in advance for your input!

I'm not doing a first look, but if I was, I would go without my bouquet and without my veil, just so he could see a little surprise of something different when I walked down the aisle.

I would probably save the veil and flowers for the walk down the aisle.

I was thinking of doing it without the veil, but my photographer was all "We could get really cool veil pictures." So, yeah. I'm going all out. I've heard it said many times that the first look doesn't take away from you walking down the aisle. I probably won't do all my pictures with the bouquet (like the initial first look), but I'm planning on bringing it in afterwards for the pictures after the initial surprise.

No bouquet - you'll want to hold his hands. Veil is fine, if it's not in front of your face. Mine was in the back.

We're not doing a first look but when we take the pictures, I'm doing some with and some without the veil and bouquet. I look really good with my veil so I want some with it.

My veil is being secured into my hair do (I plan to wear it all evening) so that will definitely be in. I think I'll have my bouquet as well. We are going to do all of our group pictures after the first look so he will see the bouquet then anyway. I'm sure I'll put it down for hand holding, hugging, etc.

Right now we are not doing one, but if we were I would probably go with it bc it adds to the whole bridal wowness of the moment. I wouldn't save anything for the aisle bc it won't be the same. I would just give him all of it for that moment.

@LoveBubbles ~ I'm not sure if there's a right or wrong way to do this. You could ask your photographer and see what they suggest. Maybe go without the accessories for first look for something different, since you can still get a few pictures after the ceremony with the veil, if you wish.

I usually see the bride do the first look without flowers; but 50-50 veil or not!

We are doing a first look, and I think I'll have my veil on. I'm also thinking that I want to wear our wedding rings in all the pictures. Maybe we'll put them on each other during the first look. Afterwards, I'll have the bouquet in all the bridal party/family pictures.

We're doing a first look, and right now, I believe I'll wear my veil, but leave my flowers for portraits. I could change my mind though...

    We did with both.

My "veil" was a fascinator with a short (birdcage) veil attached, and that was pinned into my hair.

The bouquet was actually a surprise for me too, from my mom ( I wasn't going to do one), so we had it in the first look pictures. I thought they turned out great.

Whatever makes you two comfortable though, and is easiest.

Thank you Ladies. I think I am going to do bouquet (he already knows what it looks like anyway) but no veil for first look, I will get pictures with my veil on after the ceremony.

I had both. Since we did all of our pictures before I wanted to have the full look going on. I wasn't going to do the veil, but I'm self conscious about my arms and had a strapless dress so I'm glad I chose to go with it.

I had my veil on and I'm glad I did. I loved it and I'm glad the pictures included me in the veil.

I also had my bouquet with me but I wish I hadn't. I hadn't really thought about it beforehand, I was just carrying it around because I loved it and it ended up with me in those pictures. But for that first hug, it was in the way.

We're going to do all of our group shots before the ceremony and I'd want to have my veil and bouquet for those. I probably won't have my bouquet for the initial first look just so I have my hands free, but I'll wear the veil.

I did not have my bouquet, I didn't want it out of water that long. I had a hair piece for first look and reception. I switched into a cathedral length veil for the ceremony and pictures immediately after. It would not have been good to have the veil on for first look since it was outside, windy and the veil was so long.

I didn't wear a veil at all, but I did have my bouquet with me during first look. We went straight from first look to taking pictures and that way I had it with me. We were able to do plenty of handholding and hugging even with my bouquet Smiley smile

I had my veil on- no bouquet. Didn't want anything to get in the way of the hugs and kisses! I had my sister bring down my bouq so it was ready for the rest of the pics.

I hadn't thought about this at all. But we did ours with both bouquet and veil. We did all of our pics before so I had to be fully done. Did get some awesome veil pics, btw!
