Younger Cousin/bridesmaid

Megan, on July 14, 2019 at 10:12 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 8
Hello, I very recently got engaged and of course wanted to put together a gift for my bridesmaids! Here is where I need some help.. I have my 7 girls picked out, but was sort of going back and forth on incorporating my cousin who will be going into her senior year of high school at the time. I would really like to include her, but am not sure how! Would she be too old to be a junior bridesmaid? I don't want to insult her, but she wouldn't be quite old enough to join in on any bachelorette events (drinking, bars, etc.) Thanks in advance!

She does not need to go to bachelorette party. I was my sister BM before I was old enough to drink. I just did not to the bachelorette party.

True! As of now we have 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen so I guess I should have mentioned in my original post that I was wondering if anyone has done anything creative/different/special for a younger cousin since she would be the youngest in both parties Smiley smile Thanks for your reply!

I think going into senior year is too old to be considered junior bridesmaid. I don’t know any official definition but it always seemed that juniors are in that preteen to early teen. By senior year they’re usually 17 or 18. My wedding party ages are 18, 19, 20, 39, 43 and 56. Either really young or older than traditional. (Fh’s daughters and my goddaughter are the youngsters.) For the bachelorette party I’m thinking either a painting thing or an axe throwing, the young girls can participate as can anyone not wanting to go to a bar. Afterwards the rest of us will go out.

Jr/or regular BM is a great idea. You can do pre-events for bach party before heading out to drink. Mini spa day and dinner, scavenger hunt, etc.

I think at her age it's regular bridesmaid. You could do a lunch event she could attend before your older ladies go to bars. Or a spa day.
