Yikes! What if someone spilled something on your white dress?

Amy, on April 16, 2016 at 4:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 39

For some reason I keep having dreams that someone at my wedding will ruin my dress. Is this happening to anyone else? Lol

Someone at my mom and dads wedding stepped on her train and left a muddy shoe print, right before pictures! She was mad then but now she laughs about it

YES. I had a nightmare last night that someone ordered pizza for lunch while we all got ready, then put greasy tomato saucy hands all over my dress. Last week, it was blueberries that somehow got squashed on my hem.

Oh no! @Emilyg that would be awful, my most recent dream was about a server who was about to serve me some BBQ pulled pork and flipped it on my dress. The heck? Lol I won't let any of the servers near me now.

@SaraW I feel so bad for your mama, I'm glad she's able to laugh about it now though. Smiley smile

Fiancé wanted to upgrade the red wine to one of my favorites. I refused. I'll be drinking white or champagne and anyone with a drink of color will not be getting near me till after dinner!

From experience, no one spilled on mine, but EVERYONE stepped on my dress. My bustle broke and my train was so dirty.

Hi Amy! Please change your avatar to something other than the rings: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/welcome-new-users-faq-lingo-and-guidelines/736e1073af1a0860.html It will help you get more responses and it makes the forums easier to read. Thanks!

I had a friend who, right before she walked down the aisle, the MUA dropped a big glob of lipgloss right on the bodice of her gown. She pretty much had a melt down haha- not good!! I highly recommend bringing shout wipes (they are amazing!) in your day-of emergency kit, just in case!

At the actual reception, yes your dress is going to get dirty. I drank clear drinks only, to make sure I didn't spill anything, but the hem of my dress was SO filthy by the end of the night. That's what the dry cleaner is for!

And nah, once things get started I don't plan on caring, I'm just going to drink and dance and have a blast.

I did have a little anxiety about that. That's a big part of the reason I chose to get a 2nd dress for my reception. I figured if my dress somehow got ruined before the walk down the aisle, I could always swap it out and wear the other one.

I plan to have a Tide To Go pen with me. They are pretty good at getting stains out on the spot. Or at least make the stain less obvious.

I don't envy the rest of you that seem to have these nightmares. I literally have had only one nightmare so far and it didn't include someone spilling anything on the dress. In fact, I wasn't even wearing a dress Smiley winking

No one spilled on my dress but me.

But, honestly, so what if you ruin it? You're not going to wear it again. Just have fun and bring a Tide pen, as May Bride suggested.

My DOC told me about a bridesmaid who was trying to help a bride with a red lipgloss touch-up right before they were all supposed to go down the aisle. Well the BM dropped it and huge red streak ran across the dress seconds before they were supposed to start walking. She said chalk fixed it!

Someone spilled a glass of red wine all over my SIL's dress. She reacted very well outwardly but later told me she wanted to kill the woman. Luckily it was toward the end of the reception but I think she handled it better than I would!

I'm taking notes. Lol Tide, chalk, white wine, club soda, and any other tips y'all have! Maybe even a black dress @JoRocka? Smiley smile I loved yours!

I spilled sauce on my dress. Luckily all main pics were done. I made sure to choose food with white sauce. Some club soda and it was unnoticeable!

Laugh it off and move on. Little things like this can easily ruin an amazing day. When I get stressed with wedding planning I ask myself "will it matter on our 10th anniversary?"....99.9% of the time the answer is no and I move on
