Yes or No to Spanx/shape-wear when dress shopping!?

I'd bring them. I tried on lots of crepe dresses and you can see every single line on your body (including your belly button). I'm pretty slim but I felt terrible in them and it definitely alters the entire vibe of the appointment. Wear the Spanx. Most dresses you try on will be an immediate yes or no. If it's a no, don't worry about whether they're showing. If you love the dress and they're popping out the back, just slip them off.

I would bring them with you. I already had the idea that I would be wearing spanks with my dress before I even went dress shopping. The dresses I was looking were very simple, and I didn't want to have my fat rolls showing lol. The dress I picked out actually has a built in corset in it, so I am actually not having to wear spanks. I would definitely bring them with you if they make you feel more comfortable. Who knows, the dress you pick out might have a corset in it like mine did and you decide you don't need them!

Definitely bring them at the very least. I brought a strapless bra dress shopping with me and ditched it after a couple dresses because it didn't work with backless styles. If you think you may want to wear shapewear on your wedding day then you definitely want to know how they look with the dresses you are considering. That way you aren't trying on a dress you love at the store and wondering if your Spanx will show or not. You may find yourself looking at styles that are heavily structured with think, supportive fabric and that Spanx aren't necessary, it just depends. If you bring them you don't have to use them, but at least they are there if you need them.
