ww Spam-blocked Me

Millie, on October 16, 2019 at 4:51 AM Posted in Account Support 0 8

Hi everyone. I've been contacting vendors recently and wanted to keep all vendor communication on WW if possible. As I was sending out information requests to vendors recommended by my possible venue, WW would flash 6 more, and then 8 after that that were already checked off. I figured the more the merrier, so I sent each one not thinking anything of it.

I received quick responses from the vendors and now it tells me "This vendor is no longer accepting messages." I looked it up and apparently WW spam blocks you for sending too many messages at once. I need to respond to my vendors! I know you can just email them but I was hoping to keep my communication in one spot, as I said earlier.

This is problematic, as many brides-to-be will have this hapoen to them, too. They're just trying to find their vendors. Not to mention the spam-block shouldn't happen when you use those check boxes since it's a site feature.

I've already emailed them directly as well as filled out their online form. Haven't heard back yet. They were already closed when I tried their phone line.

Has this happened to anyone else? How long did it take you to get unblocked after contacting them? Thanks in advance.

TLDR: WeddingWire spam-blocked me for contacting "too many vendors at once." I just used their built-in site features.

I know this seems super annoying and you’re totally right about it being especially strange that it’s because of a site feature, but in my experience vendors preferred to communicate off of wedding wire after initial contact was made. You’re probably better off communicating with them via email or phone anyway.

I created an email account just for wedding stuff. That way it doesn’t get mixed in with all my regular email. It’s helped at least keep that somewhat organized.

I did the same as Jeanie, a separate “wedding” email has helped us tons!

I definitely did a separate email address for wedding stuff. I don't want to be getting wedding spam for the next 10 years in my regular email. It's helped tremendously and i have all my vendors organized and can easily find the information i need.

That would frustrate me so much too! I hope you're able to find a way to communicate with your vendors!

Definitely make a new email. I always joke with my FH that my advice to newly engaged couples would be to get a fake email and a burner phone for vendors and wedding shows.
