ww Review Dispute

Kasyah, on August 18, 2021 at 8:38 PM Posted in Account Support 0 4
So I am sincerely interested why Wedding Wire is allowing a review to be disputed? I understand that a review can seriously help or hurt a vendor. I reviewed most of mine and gave them amazing praises because they deserved it and I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. We had one HORRIBLE vendor who I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy though and other brides need to beware. Had I seen a previous crap review I'd of not booked my videographer.

I searched if others had posted about this issue and sure enough, they have. Pretty sad if you ask me. There should be the upmost accountability held to those who are paid thousands of dollars in this industry. If they have treated a bride unprofessionally or made their life a living hell I'd sure want to know about it. Please fix this WW.

I can see it both ways.

The problem with a lot of review sites is that anyone can review a business. That's why you see firestorms on business review pages after the business got on the news for some reason - people who are just on the Outrage Bus, who have never used the service, leave bad reviews that are not based in fact. Same can be said if a business has a rival, or someone they pissed off who never used the service, and they just leave a nasty review.

That said, what I found frustrating about WW's review system is that there isn't a time limit for disputes. A vendor I left a 3-star review on disputed my review over a year after I posted it, claiming I had never used their service. Again, this is a great real reason to dispute a review, if someone really didn't use the service, but they should have disputed that a LONG time before they did. It seemed very strategic (waiting until they figured I wouldn't have receipts/proof I used them anymore.)

Luckily I have my receipts and all emails since I just placed them in an email folder for wedding stuff. If thats all they ask for then it should stick. I'm just frustrated because like you mentioned, there have most likely been other brides with horrible reviews but due to it being 6 months or a year after their wedding they most likely haven't kept the receipts and have had those reviews removed. It's costing brides money and heartache to not see the transparency though and we all know weddings aren't cheap.

Hi Kasyah! There are only a few reasons that vendors can dispute a review (which are outlined in our Terms of Use), and when they do it goes to our review team for verification.

Vendors can dispute reviews that contain profane, vulgar, or discriminatory material, or if the review contains personally identifiable information (such as date of birth, credit card information, social security number, etc.).

Vendors can also dispute a review if they believe that you were not their client. In this case our review team will reach out to you for appropriate documentation (such as a signed vendor contract). All you need to do is send back the requested materials and your review will be reinstated on WeddingWire.

I would like someone from WW to contact me regarding the reason it was disputed. I have proof that I paid for services and my review was nothing but factual. With that being said, I think that WW needs to understand that reviews are issued after the wedding has taken place. In my instance, it was almost a year after that I posted my review because that's how long this vendor took to actually get me what I paid for. Do you expect brides to keep receipts or contracts that long after? If so, it's going to be very hard for anyone to know they're hiring someone who is unprofessional and doesn't respect the clients in this industry...
