ww Online rsvp - Kids separately?

HJKvr, on March 20, 2018 at 1:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I'm struggling a little with deciding how to do the guest list / RSVP field on this site. I plan to do an online-only RSVP instead of response cards. I'm not sure how to handle children when it comes to this though, as Wedding Wire has you list each person separately instead of a ____ # of people option.

We do plan to allow kids, but do I need to actually spell out every kid in every household, of all ages? Right now, that's how I have it. The invitations themselves will of course be addressed to the relevant Mr & Mrs, etc. But I will also need to know head count for obvious reasons.

I'd love to hear from any of you that have used the WW RSVP and how you did or didn't include kids.

Thanks!

We didn’t do RSVPs through WW but we did keep track of our guest list through here and yes, we listed each child by name regardless of age.

Yes, you will need to include each kid regardless of age so that when the parent goes online to RSVP they can RSVP for each person in their household.

I am including each kid regardless of age on my WW RSVPs because otherwise you have no way to know if they are coming or not.

I would just add the line: "Besides adults invited, please indicate first name and age of each child from your immediate family." Also add, "Invitation not transferable." You want both of these wordings because, 1) Many venues charge 1/2 off the price of a meal for kids (some even given free food to toddlers) so you really need this information, and 2) You don't want to give your guests an opening to invite other people from their family. The invite is just intended for recipient and their children.

Thank you everyone! That's pretty much how I have things set up for now - not sure why I started second-guessing this!

Also like the alternative wording suggestion - fair points there.

I did mine with Ww, and listed everyone individually. Surprisingly there were some of my cousins who declined and their siblings came, so knowing which one the family was RSVPing for was helpful.
