Wrong date on gift for fiancé

I ordered a engraved watch for my fiancé with our original wedding date on the back of it. We, unfortunately, had to change our wedding date due to COVID. Now the watch has the wrong wedding date, and I don’t know what to do about it. I ordered it from Things Remembered. I contacted them about the situation, but they told me they wouldn’t replace it. Does anyone know of what I can do? Can jewelers replace the back of a watch?

I would see if they could put a simple line through to cross out the date and engrave the new one. Kind of embrace it, I don’t think engraving can be undone.

You could ask a jeweler if they're able to replace the back for you, otherwise you may just have to do what Amanda suggested and have the original date crossed out and the new one placed underneath it.

I like the scratched out date suggestion!!
You can also take it to a local jeweler and ask them if the engraving is shallow enough to remove and re-do!

FH ring has the wrong date, too -- he says he does'nt mind since it was supposed to be our date originially. It bothers me, but its his ring, not mine!

Why not just add the new date to the back of the watch as well?

I have an inscription on it as well, so there is no room to add the new date. I’m going to take it to a local jeweler to see if anything can be done.
