Writing Vows, tips please

We are going to be writing our own vows. I'm worried I'll ramble even if I write them. Any suggestions how to start or what to include?

We’re writing our own vows too and I started by writing down things i loved about him. The format mine is in is a little background of how I knew he was the one, a little of what I love about him and then transition into the actual vows and promises. It’s somewhat funny/somewhat serious but they’re straight from the heart and i tear up every time i read them!

I just wrote from my heart. I started with how we met and then added some light hearted jokes we share and wrapped up with the promises I was making to him. Very personal and heartfelt. It’s all about the two of you
