Wrist Loop

E'Delana, on October 30, 2017 at 4:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 18

So I have been looking at different bustles and for the most part, I don't really care for them but I have a pretty long train and think it would be cute to do a wrist loop!

Has anyone else done a wrist loop instead?!? How was it?!?! I think they are really cute and my mom had one at her wedding!

Following. Not really a fan of the way a bustle looks, but I also don't think I'd want that around my wrist all night lol

My wedding hasn't happened yet but I plan on doing the same thing! I think the wrist loop looks super elegant. Granted I'm not having a traditional reception so I don't have to worry about having it around my wrist for a long period of time. Have you considered doing both? Because I am. Granted I have no idea how much that would cost and if it is worth it but doesn't hurt to ask.

My dress isn't sheath but also not heavy. If I can carry a heavy purse for hours at a time I'm sure I can handle a little material lol.

They have some that are just a pretty cloth material I just like the idea of the one pictured. I thought about doing both but just hate the idea of a bustle and honestly, if it gets too bad I'm okay with letting it down lol

I'm thinking of doing a wrist loop too. Our reception is at a restaurant and we aren't having dancing or anything, so I'm not terribly worried about using the wrist loop. When I go for alterations I might see what the additional cost for a bustle would be just in case I decide I want it.

I am doing a wrist loop. My skirt is very simple satin so honestly, a bustle would have been a bit odd anyway but I love how elegant the wrist loop looks.

Yes, I think they are so elegant and pretty! My dress hasn't come in yet but I will have to show how it ends up when I finally get the alterations and the wrist loop attached!

Hope you guys post yours as well!

I've worn gowns with a wrist loop for the train and they are not bad if the material isn't too heavy. I may have to bustle some of my train, but I want a wrist loop. DB wouldn't do one for me, though, so I'm taking it elsewhere.

I had both a loop and a bustle. The loop was useful during photos as a way to quickly pick the train up but by the time we were done with photos, I was sick of it (my wrist hurt) and very ready to bustle my dress. The train got heavy fast!

My train has a little loop on it to help it hang on the hanger and I had totally assumed I'd loop a regular bracelet through it if I decided I needed the help. Lol so glad I'm not the only one doing the wrist thing Smiley smile

I used the loop on my train to get around while we were taking pictures before the ceremony (so my train didn't drag). I also used it during our first dance because it worked better for me (in 4in heels on grass) than the extra poof from the bustle. But once the dance floor opened, I was very glad to have a bustle. I would not have wanted to hold that train all night. Also, the bustle kept it out of the way of other people better than the loop.

I'm not a huge fan of the wrist loop personally, but I think it's definitely an option vs. a bustle, and it's really sweet that your mom had one!

I think wrist loops are really cute, go for it! Not all dresses look good bustled.

I wore a gown in a musical once that had a wrist loop. I absolutely loved it. So elegant. I don't recall it being too heavy.

I'm glad this came up, I was considering it instead of getting a bustle as well. This has convinced me to do it!

I asked my seamstress about a wrist loop and she said it really depends on your train. If it's multi layered and long, it's way heavier than you think and gets super old super fast. I did a very simple one point bustle and was very happy with it. And TBH, by the time it's bustled, I was dancing and moving. I don't think it would have made a difference what type of bustle I got.

I love the look but would consider adding a bustle too, just in case you get sick of it.
