Wrinkles

Jaclyn, on December 19, 2019 at 10:23 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I’m freaking out about my dress. I’ll attach a photo. I am in love with it but when I finally got mine in and tried it on , I felt disappointed because it was SO wrinkled. I know it was shipped and that’s why but I’m wondering if the seamstress will be able to get all the wrinkles out before my wedding. It’s a silk ball gown and I’ve heard silk winkles easily ( wish I did my research before buying it ) has anyone had a silk dress before ? Any tips or experience !? Wrinkles 1

My dress isn't silk, but it does have organza ruffles all over the skirt of the dress that tends to wrinkle. The seamstress should be able to get all the wrinkles out but make sure someone brings a steamer the day of your wedding just in case. We're planning on doing that. My mom steamed my sister-in-law's dress the day of her wedding since she had a few wrinkles on it, and it worked perfectly.

My dress was made from the same material and boy, it loves wrinkles! I bought a portable steamer off Amazon for $20 (on sale now for $14!) and it worked great! I did steam it the night before since I knew I would be running around crazy the morning of and it was a big dress but I kept it hanging up until it was put into the car to travel to the venue which was about 25 mins away and it looked fine once I got in it. The steamer left no water spots or stains of any kind. Here is the one I bought and used.

The seamstress should be able to get all wrinkles out!

My seamstress told me that I'll try the dress on the week before the wedding and then she'll steam it the day before I pick it up and just let it hang in her back room so it doesn't lose shape! My dress is not silk but it does have a silk underskirt!

She’ll be able to get them out, but it will wrinkle on your day, but the silk is gorgeous! If you look closely at pictures of Princess Di’s wedding dress, it also has wrinkles.
