Wow Factor? : Poll please

KHADIJA, on October 3, 2021 at 2:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4

Hey everyone, I am helping my sister plan her wedding for 2022. She wants a WOW factor at the reception not yet specific on what yet so I was trying to help get some ideas for her. It will be in Spring indoor reception. I wanted to take a poll / ask what was one thing that was at a recent event that was a wow factor unexpected that left a good impression? (can be a wedding, a baby shower any recent event )For me, I saw fireworks at the summer wedding I attended at that really stood out for an awesome experience. Another summer wedding had a really cute swing for the cake to be placed on. Anyone planning at an event venue that has a built-in wow factor?

There are all kinds of things she can do to make the experience a little more unique and set her wedding apart. Hiring entertainment for the cocktail hour and/or reception is always a hit with guests. You can do anything from character artists, to magicians, to tarot card readers. I’ve seen fire breathers and contortionists, as well as cigar rollers. Going all out on a theme can make the wedding unique, or hiring a live band. I've been to a wedding that had confetti and flower cannons that went off when the couple was announced husband & wife at the end of the ceremony. She could provide a unique late night snack, like a food truck. The possibilities are really endless!

We had a bagpiper for music for the ceremony and guests seemed impressed by that. We also had a vintage VW bus that was converted to a photo booth. Guests got photo strips and we got copies as well that were turned into a guest book. Rave reviews (and I originally didn’t want a photo booth).

Hi ! I'd say it's very individual... some people are not easily impressed so even if you spend a looooot of of money, they will be like "duh"..;-) And on the other hand we can be really touched by a simple ceremony that makes us cry... SO maybe fireworks, maybe a magician, but also some live music, violin maybe or a quartet...?
