Would you get matching tattoos with your future husband/wife?

I’m curious on what others personal opinions are on matching tattoos with your hubby/wife.

Personally, my fiancé and me currently have one matching tattoo together. A heart (mine) and an arrow (his) on our index fingers. We got them awhile back as a low key matching tattoo. We are thinking of getting intricate lines on our ring fingers after getting married and possibly traditional styled bears later on in life.

Before I met my fiancé, I was very much against getting matching tattoos with anyone, let alone a significant other. However, my views have changed, though he is the only exception.

How about you? Would you get a matching tattoo with your fiancé?

I have 10 tattoos, that includes a full sleeve. Fh loves my tattoos, and he wants a few himself..... But I can't say I'd be with the idea of getting something together that coordinates because, God forbid should we split, I wouldn't want that memory of him on me forever, nor the embarrassment of covering it up.

I have one tattoo, my FH has like 10. I wouldn't mind doing matching tattoos. I think it's a really cute idea.

My FH hates tattoos, so he would never do it. I like the idea of tattooed wedding bands or something matching but not names, but I think I would only get a tattoo for my children.

Nope. Maybe it’s a weird superstition but I feel like if we got tattoos we’d get a divorce. It’s like using an absolute “I would never...” or “I always...” then something happens that proves you wrong. 😆

My fiance doesn't have any tattoos (which I like about him) so I don't think he will get any! I have 3 already, two being larger ones, so they aren't as big of a deal for me. I'm thinking I'll get his name tattooed on my rib cage after our honeymoon!

We got matching tattoos last February before we even got engaged. We have rune staffs for love, protection and new beginnings. They are great stand alone tattoos so if we ever did break up we wouldn’t regret them.

My fiancé and I exchanged tattoos as our wedding presents to each other. We both got a skull with sunflowers. Different designs but similar concept. We love them and have gotten so many compliments on them.

I got a matching tat with my best friend back in college but I would absolutely never ever get a matching tattoo with a SO. You hope for the best, but you never know what’s going to happen in the future. The only guarantee in life is that tattoo sure as heck isn’t going anywhere.

My fiancé and I were just having this discussion! He wants to get my name on him, and I told him no ! I think it’s bad luck to have your husband or wife’s name on you.

Personally, I don’t think getting matching tattoos are bad as long as our names aren’t involved. Im only ok with initials, but I rather have something matching that represents us and our love than our names..

We want to get matching ones on our finger and he wants to get initials on his ring finger.

I would never get a matching or coordinated tattoo with FH. To me it’s like you’re asking for something to go wrong (yeah, I’m superstitious). I don’t object to tattoos, I have 7. FH has none and I’m pretty sure he wants to keep it that way. He doesn’t do well with pain anyway, so it’d probably be a disaster if he tried to get one.

Yes, we are talking about doing this on our honeymoon. We haven't decided what to get yet, and we are absolutely NOT getting each other's names. We both feel that is not a good idea ever.
But yes, we would like to do this.

We toyed with the idea of just getting a line on our ring fingers but haven't talked seriously about it. I'm up in the air if I want matching ones. We each have a few but I am superstitious so I'm hesitant!

We've talked about it some. He has several tattoos already from his military days, and some he regrets. He is on the fence if he wants more. We know it wouldn't be each other's names though

My fh is a welder and can't wear a wedding ring because of his job. So I selfishly kind of want him to get something on his ring finger and I'd be fine with getting that too. We sort of have matching tattoos we got when we were 17, we both have crosses for his brother who passed away. I also happen to have a matching tattoo with the best man because we are best friends too and he wanted his first tattoo so I went with him and we got them together. They are our birth year in roman numerals (we were born in the same year). I was thinking of getting roman numerals of 2020 (the year we will be married) with those too which I could probably convince fh to get with me.
