Would you contact the seller?

Lisa, on March 2, 2021 at 9:08 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
I recently purchased these matchbooks off Etsy with the vision they would be robins egg blue, like the swatch provided by the seller. The difference is night and day in my opinion. I wanted to message the seller and express my concerns. Do you think it’s worth it? Is it “close enough”? I really don’t think so. So bummed right now.

Yes of course! Message the seller. You didn’t receive what you were presented with via the swatch.

No where near close. I’d be bummed but I don’t know that I’d go through the hassle of complaining. If it’s going to bother you it doesn’t hurt to reach out and see what they say.

Definitely reach out to the seller. It’s no where near the color swatch.

When you say “swatch” , was it something you received in the mail, or a photo? That makes all the difference to me with regards to how to approach the seller and what to expect. I think it’s worth reaching out even if it can’t be fixed so that they don’t mislead another buyer in the same way.

Either way, from a GUEST perspective, it’s “close enough” that they’ll think it’s cute and fun and fitting with your theme if they don’t know how it’s “supposed” to be. There were a couple things from my wedding that were slightly off and a huge deal to ME, but if I said anything to a guest they were like “huh I didn’t notice that at ALL”

My point is that I’m not sure I’d expect anything from the seller and I’m not sure I’d even need anything from the seller , but it’s still worth a message to say that your expectations weren’t met.

As an aside, I would call the items in both of those pictures “Tiffany Blue” if I saw them separately and someone asked me what color they were

Agree with this. Photo swatches online are never accurate and your guests will not notice or care that it isn't the exact shade. I would keep them.

Those are completely different! I understand an online swatch won't exactly match the real life product but that's way off. Don't know if the seller will actually do anything since you got customized items, but it's worth reaching out.

Thanks everyone! I thought maybe I was being too picky. I messaged her and she agreed to replace them at no cost! I’ll definitely leave her a great review.
